Keselowski on Pace for Career Year

Brad Keselowski has had an incredible start to the season. If he keeps this up, it’ll be a career year and one that possibly ends up with his second Monster Energy Cup championship.

Keselowski has collected two wins in seven starts, which puts him on pace for double-digit wins this season.

Keselowski has collected two wins in seven starts, which puts him on pace for double-digit wins this season. On one hand, that sounds like a bit of a stretch for him to achieve, but when you look at his numbers so far, they’re hard to argue with.

He’s fresh off his worst finish of the year – a 36th at Texas – but prior to that, he had four top 3’s in his previous five races. Remarkably, he’s been able to finish 12th or better in five of his seven starts while holding an average starting position of 15.1, which isn’t very good. His average start has been no worse than 10th in each of the last five seasons.

I’m slightly concerned with the 36th, so I would pass for this week. That’s why we’ve seen his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Championship odds take a hit. But if he gets back on track with another scintillating finish, I would invest in his futures.

Harvick Has Been Consistent

Coming off a year where Harvick posted eight wins in 36 starts, many are surprised that Harvick hasn’t had the checkered flag in his hands through seven races so far. However, don’t let that fool you from thinking that he’s fallen off.

Harvick has been incredibly consistent this season as he has now placed in the top 9 in six straight starts. His lone miss on the year was the crash-filled Daytona 500 where he placed 26th. Outside of that, he’s finished fourth, fourth, ninth, fourth, sixth and eighth.

Harvick hasn’t led any laps in five of his seven races this year.

I’m slightly concerned that he hasn’t led any laps in five of the seven races, but it looks like it’s just a matter of time with him. He’s driving well and would be a good bet at this point.

Logano Has Been Streaky

Joey Logano is just one of four drivers to have won a race this season. He claimed the Monster Energy Cup Series race at Las Vegas and also posted strong finishes in California and Daytona, placing second and fourth, respectively.

My concern with Logano is that he’s been very hot and cold. As mentioned, he has those three top 3 results. However, he also had three results where he finished 17th or worse this year. I want to see some more consistency from him before I bet him to win it all, so I would pass.
