  • Hot-shot signing Haaland hits seven in three league games
  • Three straight wins since return from winter break
  • Bayern Munich climb into top spot after imposing run

Borussia Dortmund have been on fire since Germany’s Bundesliga returned from its winter break and have won three straight games while scoring a remarkable 15 goals.

The arrival of prolific new signing Erling Braut Haaland has invigorated Dortmund’s title challenge. He has hit an astonishing seven goals in his first three league games for the club.

It means Dortmund have climbed one place to third and sit only three points behind leaders Bayern Munich and two behind second-placed Red Bull Leipzig.

After several major fluctuations in their price this season in their Bundesliga odds, Dortmund are now rated as third favorites at +450 behind favorites Bayern, who are -250.

Munich Make Their Move

Bayern – champions in each of the past seven seasons – have also had an ominously powerful run of form since the winter break.

They have racked up three straight wins and hit 12 goals to claim top spot last weekend for the first time since late September.

Just as ominously, their star Polish striker Robert Lewandoski has scored in each of those three victories to take his tally for the season to 22 goals in 20 Bundesliga matches.

Given their size, wealth and history, it is clear why they are favorites. But they do not offer great value.

Dortmund, by contrast, look an interesting proposition as they could be driven all the way to a title win if Haaland continues in his current exciting form – although they were beaten 3-2 by Werder Bremen in the DFB Pokal Cup on Tuesday.

They have also signed German international midfielder Emre Can on loan from Juventus.

Leipzig are priced as second favorites at +400 but have faltered recently.

Only three points separate the leading four sides so a close battle looks in store. Bayern now have 42 points with Red Bull on 39 and both Dortmund and Monchengladbach on 39.

Leipzig are priced as second favorites at +400 but have faltered recently.

The big game-changer for Dortmund has been the arrival of Norwegian striker Braut Haaland.

They had drifted out as far as +1386 before the winter break following a 3-3- draw against Red Bull Leipzig and a 2-1 defeat by Hoffenheim before Christmas.

But Haaland has made an instant impact with seven goals in his opening three Bundesliga appearances and another in the DFB Pokal Cup.

That makes them a better current prospect than either Leipzig or Monchengladbach.

$30 Million Signing from Salzburg

Haaland was signed in December from Red Bull Salzburg for $30 million.

He made his debut as a 56th-minute substitute at Augsburg on January 18 and hit a hat-trick inside 23 minutes in a 5-3 win.

He then hit two more as a substitute in a 5-1 defeat of FC Koln. That was followed by two more in a 5-0 victory against Union Berlin.

Leipzig led the table from mid-December to mid-January but have slipped after a 2-0 defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt and a 2-2 draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach

With fifth-placed Bayer Leverkusen way behind on 34 points, it now looks like a fight between the current top four.

Leipzig led the table from mid-December to mid-January but have slipped after a 2-0 defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt and a 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach in their two most recent fixtures.

Monchengladbach have taken only four points from the three fixtures since the break.

Pick: Borussia Dortmund +450
