The Champions League is racing along this season. A later start to campaigns around Europe has condensed the continental campaign, meaning the group stage gets up and running with back-to-back game weeks. Just a few days after the first round of matches, teams are jetting around the continent once again.

Several recent European champions are in action in the shape of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, while two of the competition’s underdog stories matchup in Bergamo as Atalanta host Ajax. Dark horses Inter travel east to face Shakhtar Donetsk, and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City head to France for a meeting with Marseille.

The table below has the complete odds for the Champions League matches on Tuesday October 27th.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid got a huge win on the weekend in one of the most chaotic Clasicos in recent memory. The 3-1 victory over their bitter rivals was a relief for Los Blancos, who had lost back-to-back matches. The slip up to Cadiz could perhaps be excused as a freak result, but there was cause for concern when it was followed up with a lackluster first half performance and eventual loss to Shakhtar Donetsk a few days later. Bouncing back against Barcelona will give the Spanish champions plenty of confidence as they travel to Germany.

As Real look to get their Champions League campaign back on track, Borussia Monchengladbach will be hoping to make up for a gutting draw against Inter. Gladbach looked to have stolen a victory with a few minutes to go, but a 90th minute goal from Romelu Lukaku made it 2-2. In the competition’s toughest group, Marco Rose’s side could end up regretting that result. The drama continued for them at the weekend, scoring twice late on themselves to beat Mainz 3-2.

The recent performances of these two teams suggest goals are on the cards. With plenty of second half action of late from both teams, over 2.5 second half goals looks a good bet.

Pick: Over 2.5 second half goals (+215)

Marseille vs Manchester City

Manchester City’s start to the season has been marred by injuries. With the depth of their squad, however, absences do not excuse some of their performances. They saw off Porto in the Champions League opener last week, but drew with West Ham at the weekend to take them to just eight points from their first five Premier League matches. Pep Guardiola is struggling to get the balance of his team right, and they are often too cautious in possession. Having only been fit enough for the bench at the weekend, City will be desperate to have Kevin De Bruyne available to start on Tuesday.

Marseille have endured their own rocky start to the season. A loss to Olympiakos last week was an early blow to their hopes of qualification, and it follows on a theme of disappointment. Wins in their last two Ligue 1 matches were much-needed, but they don’t tell the full story. Marseille have struggled at both ends of the pitch, sitting 13th in Ligue 1 in expected points at the time of writing and in the bottom six in expected goals against.

The return of De Bruyne is huge. He gives City impetus in the middle, a player who can get the ball to Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling in the final third. The visitors should take advantage of an uncertain Marseille defense – a comfortable win seems likely.

Pick: Manchester City -2 (+170)

Atalanta vs Ajax

This match will the neutral’s favorite in the Champions League this week. Atalanta’s matches have averaged over five goals this season, and Ajax are coming off a record-breaking win over VVV-Venlo on Saturday. The 13-0 drubbing followed a 1-0 loss to Liverpool on matchday 1 and serves as perfect preparation for what should be a goal fest in Lombardy.

Atalanta gave Midtjylland a 4-0 thrashing last week, but they made it consecutive Serie A losses with a 3-1 defeat to Sampdoria on Saturday. Both teams will get plenty of chances to score on Tuesday.

Matches that look destined to be so high-scoring can often disappoint (that’s exactly what happened with Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday), but it’s against Atalanta’s nature to play anything other than their free-flowing football. These two teams are likely battling it out for one qualification spot – this is a huge match, and one they will both be doing all they can to win.

Goals in both halves is as short as -335, which tells us everything about these two sides. This is the perfect match to bet on both teams to score in both halves.

Pick: Both teams to score in both halves (+575)
