Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Brazil are all in action on Wednesday June, 23rd. Matchday 4 of the Copa America group stage is upon us, and it’s a must-win for Ecuador, who currently sit bottom of Group B.

Brazil come into this round of fixtures with maximum points from their first two matches. They face a Colombia team among the dark horses to win the competition, but who have been unimpressive to date, picking up just four points from three matches. Peru have got their two trickiest fixtures out of the way, though they are underdogs for the matchup with Ecuador.

All to Play For

With one point from two matches, Ecuador need a win on Wednesday. The books like their chances at a +140 price to win the match despite poor recent results.

Peru have the advantage of points on the board, and they come into this match high on confidence after an impressive win over Colombia. With Venezuela having only two points so far, there’s a good chance that both of these teams progress, but Peru will have a lot of pressure on their final group match if they fail to win against La Tricolor.

Ecuador head into this match without one of their most experienced players in Enner Valencia. The former West Ham man picked up two yellows in the first two matches, earning a suspension. Gonzalo Plata is expected to return to the XI for this one. Gustavo Alfaro will hope his attack can create chances even without Valencia – he’s the only player in the squad with more than eight international goals.

On the back of such a great win, Peru are unlikely to make any changes for this one. Los Incas won this matchup when the teams met in a World Cup qualifier earlier this month, and there’s value in backing them to repeat that triumph. Valencia is a big loss for Ecuador, and the Peruvians have shown they can pose a threat on the break from a solid midfield base.

Pick: Peru to win at least one half (+110)

Brazil vs Colombia Odds

Matchup Spread Moneyline Total
Brazil vs Colombia BRA -1 (-117) | COL +1 (-103) BRA -205 | COL +600 | DRAW +300 Ov 2.5 (+110) | Un 2.5 (-134)

Brazil’s Real Test

With two wins from two and seven goals scored without conceding, Brazil face their first proper test of the group stage against the Colombians. It’s nine matches undefeated in all competitions for Tite’s men, who have cemented their status as tournament favorites. Victory over Colombia will as good as secure top spot in the group for the Brazilians, which should bring a very favorable quarterfinal draw.

With the strange format, Colombia are almost guaranteed to progress despite their early struggles. The performance against Peru was uninspiring, and it followed a frustrating 0-0 draw with Venezuela. Finishing chances has proved difficult for Los Cafeteros. They have taken 35 shots across their last two matches and scored only one goal.

While Tite may wring the changes to keep his players fresh, Colombia face a different dilemma. Luis Muriel should return to the XI. Edwin Cardona and Duvan Zapata might drop to the bench. There are plenty of options in the squad, particularly with Mateus Uribe and Luis Diaz returning from suspension, and it will be interesting to see how Reinaldo Rueda lines his team up.

Even if Tite rotates, Neymar will still get the start. Changes to the XI haven’t impacted Brazil’s first two performances in this competition as they notched comfortable wins over Venezuela and Peru. The price on Brazil to win straight up is a bit short, so backing them to get another victory and clean sheet is the best bet here. This isn’t the match to end Colombia’s goal scoring struggles.

Pick: Brazil to win in shutout (+120)
