Gareth Bale Favored to Remain at Real Madrid by August 9th
- Spanish giants want to dump Welsh superstar
- Player insists he is going nowhere
- Potential swap deal with Manchester United’s Pogba
Gareth Bale has been jeered by fans at Real Madrid after being told he is surplus to requirements at the club by manager Zinedine Zidane.
But the Welsh superstar has made it plain he will not be forced out. And the oddsmakers agree.
After suggestions of a move to Manchester United began to look improbable, Bale is now strongly favored at -225 to remain at Madrid.

Contracted Until 2022
Wales international Bale, 29, has a contract with Real until 2022.
His agent, Jonathan Barnett, is adamant that he has no intention of leaving
During previous bouts of transfer speculation surrounding Bale, Barnett has always maintained the line that he would remain.
He has been proven correct every time.
It will lead to a tense stand-off which could condemn Bale to a spell when he will be out of action instead of playing.
This time, however, it is Real who wish to be rid of the player.

It will lead to a tense stand-off which could condemn Bale to a spell when he will be out of action instead of playing. But he has said he is prepared for this eventuality.
As the transfer deadline approaches – with the cut-off point for EPL clubs to sign players at 12:00 pm EST on August 8 – it may become a battle of who blinks first between Bale and Real.
That means the idea of a swap-plus-cash deal with United – with Real target Paul Pogba heading to Spain – will remain a possibility.
Man Utd Seek Big Name
It could take more realistic a shape as the deadline approaches and United feel a greater need to land a big name. So it remains an intriguing outside bet that Bale will eventually depart.
United’s rebuilding moves have so far been low-key.
If they captured Bale, it would be a major boost after their disappointing campaign last season.

So they may yet up the stakes to land Bale in the later stages of the transfer window.
The coach has signed five new players with Eden Hazard earmarked as the new Galactico superstar after his arrival from Chelsea.
Zidane is re-building the Real team after a disappointing campaign last season when, unusually, Madrid won only the lightly-regarded Club World Cup.

Zidane now wishes to recoup some of the cash outlay by selling Bale. And its worth remembering that in soccer’s power games, Real usually get what they want in the end.
