These two countries have only met twice in their history, with Honduras winning both games and outscoring their oppositions 8-1 in the process.

Honduras Looking to Turn Around Their Fortunes
After qualifying for back-to-back World Cups in 2010 and 2014, the Hondurans missed out on the 2018 competition in Russia by a hair and have struggled to find their form since. The 2019 Gold Cup was underwhelming, with Honduras finishing rock bottom in Group C behind the likes of El Salvador, Curacao, and Jamaica.
However, their latest success is a reason for optimism. Fabian Coito’s side played to a scoreless draw with CONCACAF powerhouse Mexico last month and despite being outplayed to the tune of 71% possession, the Hondurans registered four shots on target while the Mexicans failed to have an attempt on goal. Just six days prior to this result, Honduras also beat a very decent Costa Rica squad in penalties to solidify third spot in the Nations League.
Even in their first match of that competition, Coito’s men put up a respectable fight against the US in a 1-0 defeat. They had numerous chances to find the back of the net as well but failed to capitalize. In conclusion, the Hondurans have been no pushover against some of the better countries in CONCACAF this summer.
In this group, Honduras has a realistic shot at progressing to the knockout stages with Grenada, Panama, and Qatar accompanying them. However, the side will need to start scoring goals after netting just twice in their last three appearances. The attacking duties will likely fall on the shoulders of Alberth Elis, who is one of the younger players in the squad.

Getting off to a smashing start against Grenada will give them much-needed momentum moving forward in the tournament.
Stern Test for Grenada
The Grenadans will be pleased to even be in the Gold Cup after failing to qualify for ten years. However, this competition will likely be more of a feeler for Grenada, who have named seven attacking players to their roster under the age of 25.
Former Canadian National Team coach Michael Findlay will be looking to lead his side to their first-ever victory in the Gold Cup, having lost all six games previously 2009 and 2011, respectively.

The Spice Boys aren’t in great form lately though, losing three of their four fixtures in 2021. Grenada’s only victory since the turn of the year was against the US Virgin Islands in World Cup Qualifying back in March. The last outing for the Grenadans resulted in a 2-1 defeat to Caribbean counterparts, Montserrat.
However, Findlay has selected some intriguing talent to represent the nation. There are numerous players through the squad who play their football throughout the English football system, such as Omar Beckles and Aaron Pierre who are members of Leyton Orient and Shrewsbury Town.

The main man up top though will be hitman Jamal Charles, who has bagged an impressive 14 goals in 25 appearances for Grenada. They also have lots of experience in between the sticks with Jason Belfon, who has featured 43 times for his country.

Honduras vs Grenada Prediction
By no surprise, the Hondurans head into this match as a heavy favorite. They possess a lot more quality than Grenada and have utterly dominated them whenever the two sides have clashed.
Honduras will definitely be the best bet here, but the moneyline doesn’t offer much value at a steep -750. The Grenadans don’t score a whole lot of goals and in their first Gold Cup appearance since 2011, I’m not expecting much from them here. Take the hosts to secure a two-goal victory on Tuesday.
Pick: Honduras to Win by 2 (+275)
