Inter Milan vs Juventus Over/Under and Spread

With the benchmark set at 2.5 goals in the game, the bookies have listed the under at -135 and the over at a more tempting +110, reflective of how close and low-scoring the first leg was.

Inter Milan vs Juventus Preview

For 83 minutes, the first leg of this tie was uneventful, but then Juve’s Juan Cuadrado gave the home team what looked at the time to be a vital lead going into the second leg. Then, with the minutes ticking away, Juve defender Bremer was adjudged to have handled in the box and Inter were awarded a penalty.

From the resultant spot-kick, Romelu Lukaku scored but not before he’d been singled out for some horrific racial abuse by the home fans. From the melee that followed, Lukaku was himself sent off for his reaction along with Inter’s captain Samir Handanovic and Juve’s Cuadrado. Lukaku’s red card has since been overturned on appeal, so he plays in the second leg.

Champions League Semi for Inter

So it will be in a thunderous atmosphere that the second leg takes place, but with the home side also in a much better place than they were going into the first leg. Since then, they have beaten Benfica over two legs to set up a Champions League semifinal with city rivals AC Milan, and have ended a Serie A five-game win-less run with a win over Empoli.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is still under huge pressure though after a difficult campaign but will buy himself some time if he can guide the Nerazzurri to another Coppa Italia final.

Juve Win Appeal on Points Deduction

Even by Juve’s controversial and tumultuous standards, this has been quite the season and even quite the week! Their 15-point deduction – handed to them due to financial irregularities – has been overturned on appeal and so they have risen from seventh place to third in the Serie A table, albeit still 19 points shy of champions-elect, Napoli.

Also in the last week, they earned a Europa League semifinal against Sevilla by drawing 1-1 in Lisbon against Sporting after winning the first leg 1-0, but on the flip side, despite playing well at home against Napoli on Sunday, they ended up conceding an injury-time goal and lost the game 1-0. It was their third straight Serie A loss.

The Old Lady Looking for Third Win Over Inter

What is in Juve’s favor coming into this game is their form against Inter this season. Despite only drawing the home leg of this tie, they have already recorded a Serie A double over the Nerazzurri – winning 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium in November and winning 1-0 in the San Siro just over a month ago.

If Allegri’s men can chalk up a third win in the season over their great rivals, it will set up a final against the winners of Fiorentina vs Cremonese, in what would be a record-breaking 21st final appearance.

Inter Milan vs Juventus Prediction

While things have improved off the pitch for Juve, their current form on it is less than impressive. Inter too has struggled for consistency and both teams have been in the shadow of Napoli this season,

This looks likely to be tight and low-scoring but, for me, a rejuvenated and motivated Lukaku could make the difference.

Inter Milan vs Juventus Picks: Inter to win (+105) / Lukaku to score first goal (+450)
