How to Watch LAFC vs Philadelphia

Tonight’s CONCACAF Champions League match between LAFC and the Philadelphia Union can be seen on FS1, TUDN and Fubo.

LAFC vs Philadelphia Union Preview

The Black and Gold welcome back Philadelphia to BMO Stadium for the first time since they beat them in penalties in the MLS Cup Final last year in dramatic fashion. Los Angeles looked to be in trouble a week ago before Acosta netted a critical away goal to put the hosts in a prime position to progress Tuesday if they can produce the goods on home soil.

While LAFC has enjoyed its fair share of success in Major League Soccer, they’ve yet to conquer the CCL. In fact, this is just their second appearance in the competition. However, Steve Cherundolo’s men did make the final back in 2020, finishing as a runner-up. As for the last round, LA ran through the Vancouver Whitecaps, beating them 6-0 on aggregate.

In league play, LAFC is still undefeated, sitting third in the MLS Western Conference at 5-3-0. Both LAFC and and Philadelphia were off last weekend in MLS play who will have not played since Leg 1.

Revenge will surely be on Philadelphia’s minds Tuesday. After all, LAFC is the side that not only bested them in the MLS Cup Final but also edged the Union out for the Supporter’s Shield.

Jim Curtin’s group isn’t exactly thriving in league action at the moment, sitting in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with a 3-4-2 record. That being said, Philly is showing their quality in the CCL, eliminating Liga MX outfit Atlas in the quarterfinals.

Three players in particular are doing most of the damage in the tournament. Daniel Gazdag has netted three times, while Andreas Perea and Julian Carranza have two goals apiece. The attack will need to be firing on all cylinders Tuesday because Philadelphia did concede an away goal at home, which means LA does hold the advantage.

LAFC vs Philadelphia Union History

The Union are still searching for their first win over LAFC. In five all-time meetings, LAFC are undefeated with one win and four draws.

LAFC vs Philadelphia Union Prediction

Philadelphia has proven they can score at BMO Stadium, but LAFC is essentially flawless at home, losing just once this term across all competitions. I expect the hosts to win this fixture and march into their second final in club history.
