Matchday 38 in the French top-flight will be as decisive as they come. Current league leaders Lille are on the brink of capturing the title, while PSG, who trail them by a point, will be praying their Ligue 1 rivals slip up against 12th place Angers.

When it comes to the final Champions League spot, Lyon still has a chance. They’re a point behind Monaco, who clash with RC Lens. Les Gones meanwhile, need a victory vs. Nice to have an array of hope at playing UCL football next term.

Brest vs PSG Prediction

Brest will be looking to play spoiler on Sunday when they host PSG. They currently sit in 16th place and just one point above the relegation playoff. While it also depends on Lorient and Nantes’ results on matchday 38, Brest could find themselves having to potentially play after the term in order to stay in the top flight.

Olivier Dall’Oglio’s side has collected just one victory in their last nine matches while playing to a scoreless draw with Montpellier last weekend. Brest has also lost the last three games on home soil against the current title holders.

Paris head into this clash in fine form, going undefeated in their last six league appearances while winning the Coupe De France mid-week. A victory is a must if Mauricio Pochettino’s men are to have any shot at winning another title. PSG’s 4-0 thrashing of Stade Reims last Sunday was extremely important as Lille dropped points against St. Etienne.

It’s not a matter of will PSG come out victorious here, it’s by how much. The last time they played Brest, it ended in a 3-0 win. This is such a crucial fixture for them and I expect a fairly similar result again.

Pick: PSG to Win by 2 (+310)

Angers vs Lille Prediction

Out-of-form Angers welcome Lille to the Stade Raymond-Kopa. The hosts will be looking for another upset, having won the reverse fixture 2-1 in January. However, they head into this clash in poor shape, losing four of their last five matches.

A defeat to Marseille a week ago was an absolute dogfight though, with Arkadiusz Milik’s hat-trick ultimately sinking Angers. The Polish striker bagged a winner in the final minute of injury time. Nevertheless, it was a promising performance for Stephane Moulin’s squad.

After finishing in fourth place last term, this has really been a terrific campaign for Lille. Unfortunately, they couldn’t wrap up the title last weekend after drawing with St. Etienne, but the full three points here will see them crowned the champions.

Christophe Galtier’s side has been extremely consistent, having occupied top spot for the majority of the season. Their backline is also rock-solid, conceding just 22 times. Lille has kept three straight clean sheets as well. They will be looking to strike duo Jonathan David and Burkan Yilmaz to provide some more brilliance in this vital fixture.

Angers doesn’t score a whole lot while Lille is very sharp defensively. I expect the visitors to rise to the occasion and secure a convincing victory.

Pick: Lille to Win 2-0 (+525)

Lens vs Monaco Prediction

Lens will be looking to end the term on a high note against Monaco. They’ve suffered three consecutive defeats but did beat their round 38 counterparts handily in December by a score of 3-0.

Unfortunately, Lens lost by that exact same scoreline against Bordeaux last weekend. In fact, Franck Haise’s men have conceded six goals in their previous three appearances while netting just once.

With a victory here, Monaco can book their ticket back to the Champions League after missing out for the last two years. This is a far cry from 2019-20, where Les Monégasques finished in ninth place in the shortened season.

Monaco truly has one of the most clinical frontlines in France with Wissam Ben Yedder and Kevin Volland. The two have combined for 36 goals and 14 assists this term.

There’s a lot at stake for the visitors and I believe their impressive form will help them secure a key three points. Take Monaco on the Moneyline.

Pick: Monaco (-167)
