Pick 1: Marseille vs Nantes

Marseille, although ten points adrift of leaders PSG, are comfortably the ‘best of the rest’ and are themselves 11 points clear of third-placed Stade Rennes. This Saturday, when they face Nantes at the Stade Velodrome, they will be looking to make it four wins on the spin as they close in on that top-two finish.

For manager Andre Villas-Boas, formerly of Chelsea and Tottenham, this has been an outstanding season as he looks set to take them to their highest finish since 2012/13 when they were last runners-up.

For Nantes, this one looks a big ask. Les Canaris are in the midst of a dip, having collected only two points from their last five games, and are notoriously poor travelers. With Marseille looking for their ninth home win of the season, it’s no surprise they are odds-on for the win but let’s still not rule out the draw here with Nantes desperate to end their poor run. So, I expect an obdurate, defensive performance from  Les Canaris, one that may just be enough to earn a surprise point.

Pick: Marseille and Nantes to draw (+235)

Pick 2: Dijon vs Monaco

Monaco are currently just outside the Champions League places after a fine run of form has propelled them back into contention. A win in Dijon at the Stade Gaston-Gerard at the weekend will make it four wins on the bounce for Les Rouges et Noirs, and they now have Stade Rennes and Lille firmly in their sights in the hunt for those lucrative European places.

The Mustards, as Dijon are known, are in the midst of a fight against relegation and currently sit in 18th, but it’s important to note that Angers in 14th are only four points ahead. Also worth noting is that Dijon has the best goal difference of the bottom seven teams and have been scoring loads of goals of late.

Dijon’s problems have mainly come about as a result of some poor away form and there’s enough here to suggest that there is value here in the +240 for the home win.

Pick: Dijon to win  (+240)

Pick 3: St Etienne vs Stade Reims

Saint-Etienne will be looking to end their four-game losing run when they host Reims at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. This horrible run has seen Les Verts slide down the table and, like Dijon, they now find themselves in the middle of the Ligue 1 relegation battle.

Reims beat Rennes 1-0 in their last league game and head into this one full of confidence. They now find themselves looking up the table rather than down, and are just four points shy of the European places. Given that Reims beat Saint-Etienne 3-1 earlier in the season, the smart money here has to be on the +220 on offer for the Reims win.

Pick: Reims to win (+220)
