New England Revolution vs Columbus Crew Betting Tips

The Supporters’ Shield holders have been very average so far at 3-1-5 entering MLS Week 10. After a four-game losing streak though, they have won two of three. That includes a 2-0 home win over Inter Miami last weekend. The Revs have now scored in each of their past four. They’ve also scored in eight of nine. Defensively, they’ve struggled. Last week’s clean sheet from Matt Turner was just the second time New England held an opponent scoreless this season.

Of course, having USMNT and future Arsenal keeper Matt Turner back from injury certainly helped. It was Turner’s first game of the season after being out with injury.

Columbus is also off to a so-so start this season at an even 3-3-3. They too are coming off a clean sheet win last week, 3-0 at home to DC. It was their first game after trading fan-favorite Gyasi Zardes to Colorado. It was also the first time they had scored a goal in four games. They did though score in each of their opening four games to start the season, scoring ten in those four. Despite the scoring drought, they still rank fifth-overall in xG in MLS at 14.9.

Away from Columbus, they’ve kept just one clean sheet, a 0-0 draw. Their other four results on the road were 3-3 and 1-1 draws, plus a 1-0 loss.

In three meetings last season New England won the first meeting 1-0, and a 2-2 and 1-1 draw followed in the next two meetings.

Neither team has looked too solid defensively this season and a goal from each side could be in the cards.

Pick: Both Teams to Score (-140); 1 unit

FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders Prediction

FC Dallas sits fourth in the West at 4-4-1. They’re one of just four teams who have just a single defeat heading into MLS Week 10. That defeat came on the road where they are 0-3-1. But at home at Toyota Stadium, they’re an undefeated 4-1-0, scoring 12 times and conceding just four.

Dallas has scored multiple goals in each of their past four games. On the offensive side of the ball, Dallas striker Jesus Ferreira is on fire with six goals this season, only behind Jesus Jimenez (TOR) and Sebastian Driussi (AUS). Defensively, they’ve allowed the fourth-fewest shots on target.

Seattle just dropped results in their past two league matches to far lesser opponents than Dallas. Last week they lost 4-3 in San Jose and the week prior they lost 1-0 at home to Miami.

They’re way down in 12th in the Western Conference at 2-1-4. It’s a shocking position if you’re a casual MLS observer who’s seen the Sounders make multiple trips to the MLS Cup Final and being near the top of the MLS Cup odds in most years. But those following the North American version of the Champions League, the CCL, know Seattle has been laser-focused on becoming the first MLS team to win the tournament.

And on Wednesday night, at home to Mexican side Pumas UNAM, they did just that. The Sounders were 3-0 winners at home, after a 2-2 first-leg draw in Mexico. This is a massive feat. It’s huge for Seattle. But it’s also huge for the entire league of MLS and North American soccer as a whole. For years the hope of an MLS team winning was a joke. MLS teams were often brushed aside by their Mexican counterparts. A few times in recent years MLS teams have been close but came up short. But not this time. The point being is that the parties would’ve raged on late in Seattle Wednesday night and likely later into the week. It will be hard to replicate that midweek intensity with a quick turnaround on Saturday.

Starters will likely be rested. Joao Paulo and Nouhou were both injured in the final. This is a great spot to bet against the Sounders. Dallas was priced at -110 earlier in the week but that price has been shortening.

Pick: Dallas to Win (-120); 1 unit

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Toronto FC Prediction

If you like seeing goals, these two teams are for you.

Vancouver is 6-2 to Over 2.5 totals. This, despite only scoring six goals of their own. They’ve conceded 17.

Toronto is 8-2 to the Over.

You know how many times Toronto matches have seen goals from both teams this season? In nine of ten. It was a perfect 9-0 prior to Wednesday’s road match in Cincinnati. The streak came to an end as Toronto was held scoreless in a 2-0 defeat. But falling behind just two minutes in and then being reduced to ten men just four minutes later meant TFC played the entire game down a man. Once falling behind 2-0, head coach Bob Bradley took the chance to sub off some starters, leaving the remaining TFC lineup to look much like a TFC II squad. This making it extremely tough for Toronto to grab a consolation goal and continue the streak of goals from both sides in their matches.

On top of both teams scoring in their nine previous matches, eight of those also saw three or more goals scored overall. Only their season-opener was 1-1.

Toronto has the league’s leading goal-scorer in Jimenez with seven goals, tied alongside Austin’s Driussi. But their defense is porous, allowing 19 goals and the second-highest xGA in the league at 17.8.

Vancouver has just one win this season. They have just one win in their past 11 dating back to last season as well.

The Whitecaps have allowed a goal (and multiple goals) in six of eight. Their past three matches, all defeats, have seen them outscored 8-3. Last week they fell 3-0 away to second-place, Austin FC.

What it all comes down to is you simply can’t trust either of these teams to keep a clean sheet and I’m confident someone will find a second.

Pick: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals (+104) at Barstool; 1 unit

MLS Week 10 Parlay

Here’s a two-teamer from Saturday’s slate of matches.

CF Montreal vs Orlando City SC Pick

Montreal is undefeated in five matches at 4-1-0. They won 2-1 at home to Atlanta last week and have scored in every game this season except in Week 1, a 2-0 road loss to this Orlando side. They’ve also scored multiple goals in five of their past six. Their 16 goals scored are tied for second overall in the East.

Backing goals from both teams (-135) is quite possible given Orlando’s success against Montreal being undefeated in their past three head-to-head. That, plus Montreal’s shaky defense that has allowed 19 goals already. But for the sake of this parlay I’ll include Montreal to simply goal at least once (-450).

NYCFC vs Sporting KC Pick

New York’s offense is on fire right now with 14 goals in their past three games, all wins and all at home. At home NYCFC is 4-0-1, outscoring their opponents 18-3.

For SKC, they’ve been giving up goals for fun. They’re 2-2-6 on the season with eight goals scored and 16 conceded. SKC is winless since March 22 and away from home they’ve lost 3-1, 1-0, 3-1, 2-0, and 3-1.

NYCFC’s attack has been scorching hot of late and I think New York should be able to find the back of the net twice (-195).

Parlay Pick: Montreal to score & NYCFC O1.5 (-118); 1 unit
