Mo Salah Favored to Be Top Liverpool Scorer, Sergio Aguero Not Favored to Lead Man City in EPL Scoring

Mohamed Salah will be the spearhead of Liverpool’s attempt to finally land the English Premier League title – the prize they cherish even more than the Champions League.
Egyptian international Salah has led the Anfield team’s chart in both his two seasons at the club and is the favorite to make it a hat-trick.
They rate him as a -125 favorite to be top scorer for the Reds even though he and Sadio Mane finished joint-first with 22 EPL goals each in 2018/19.

Salah and Liverpool are basking in the glory of their Champions League final victory against EPL rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
EPL Will Be Klopp’s Priority
But the major target for the club now is surely to end their agonizing wait for a league championship victory after 30 years.
Liverpool last won the English league championship in 1989-90.

Salah is supremely suited to the sweeping, attacking style favored by Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and is the best bet to be top scorer.
The extra incentive will be the new £430,000-a-week contract the club are about to offer him.
Egyptian’s Huge 32-Goal Haul
In his first season at the club in 2017-18 Salah scored a huge 32 goals in the EPL to claim the competition’s Golden Boot.
Mane managed only 10 EPL goals in that campaign, with Roberto Firminho the club’s second leading scorer with 15 goals.
Last season, Salah shared the Golden Boot with teammate Mane and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who also struck 22 times.
Both Salah and Mane will be affected early in the English season after competing for their national teams in the African Cup of Nations and may be rested early in the season.

Salah is due back at the club 12 days before the opening EPL fixture against Norwich City after playing for Egypt until the last eight stage of the African tournament.
Mane has not yet been given a return date after playing all the way until the AFCON final on July 19 with Senegal.

Surprisingly, the prolific Sergio Aguero is not favored to finish as the leading goal-getter for reigning EPL champions Manchester City.
Even though he has topped the marksman’s table for the club in seven of his eight seasons in English football, there is a perceived threat that he may be overtaken by Raheem Sterling or the younger Gabriel Jesus in the coming campaign.
The Argentinian Aguero is rated at +100 to be City’s leading EPL goalscorer but the odds against it are -130.
City’s 31-year-old Ageuro has also had a busy summer on international duty after reaching the semifinals of the Copa America with Argentina.
It is believed he will be rotated more often with Brazilian striker Jesus in the coming campaign even though Aguero hit 21 EPL goals last season.

City’s English international Sterling has become more prolific in the past two seasons and could surpass Aguero this time around.
Sterling was four goals behind Aguero with 17 strikes last season. In 2017-18, he scored 18 EPL goals to Aguero’s 21.
