Olympiakos will host Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade On Wednesday, December 11, at 3:00 pm EST. Both sides have no shot at advancing in Group B, but Olympiakos will be looking for their first victory of this year’s UCL campaign after losing four matches and drawing one. It’s been tough for both of these squads to really make their mark in Group B with the likes of Bayern Munich and Tottenham alongside them.

Although Red Star beat Olympiakos previously in early October, the Greeks enter this clash as clear favorites at a moneyline of -189.

Both Sides Looking to Finish on a High Note

There was never much hope of Red Star or Olympiakos advancing in this group when they had to play Bayern Munich and last year’s finalists, Tottenham, twice each. Both sides, however, will be looking to finish this year’s Champions League group stage on a high note.

Olympiakos has put up several decent performances in this year’s competition but were unlucky to come out on the losing end in four of their five matches to date. On Matchday 1, they tied Tottenham 2-2, but have lost their last four fixtures since. They put up a good fight against Bayern Munich on October 22nd, losing 3-2 at home.

They looked destined for an upset on Matchday 5 in North London against the Spurs once again after taking a 2-0 lead early on, but Harry Kane and co. fired back with four goals to defeat the Greeks 4-2. This match next Wednesday will be their last opportunity to win a European fixture when they host the Serbians.

Red Star meanwhile, have been thrashed several times in this year’s competition, giving up nine goals in two matches against Tottenham then conceding another nine against Bayern in their two meetings. They managed to score just three goals in this year’s competition in their lone victory over Olympiakos on Matchday 2. It’s very obvious that both Bayern and Spurs are much better than the Serbian side, but to lose by so many goals in each match is no excuse.

But they have the chance to finish the competition on a positive note as they will look to beat Olympiakos for a second-straight time, this time on the road.

Olympiakos Should Get Their First Victory

The Greek side has put up numerous respectable performances throughout this year’s competition, but unfortunately, haven’t been able to secure a victory. With the atmosphere of playing at home and Red Star’s poor form in European competition as of late, Pedro Martins’ squad should definitely win their last fixture of the UCL group stage.

Pick: Olympiakos 2-1
