Pick 1: Pacos Ferreira vs Portimonense
Few teams have seen starker shifts in fortune post-COVID than Pacos Ferreira (10-5-17) and Portimonense (6-12-14), who have both picked up a string of solid results to give themselves a shot — a near-certainty, in the case of Pacos — at survival in Portugal’s top flight.
With three wins in their last five matches, Portimonense are positively buzzing.
While odds lines were not available at time of publishing, take Portimonense — even though they are on the road — to earn a result: They’ve beaten the teams they should have to get to this point of having a possibility of surviving, and should be good again on Matchday 33.
Pick: Portimonense pk, +0.5 (N/A)
Pick 2: Porto vs Moreirense
Portugal’s new champions (25-4-3) host 8th-place Moreirense (10-13-9) on Monday at the Estadio do Dragao.
While it remains to be seen what sort of squad Porto field — and what shape they’re in, following title celebrations — one thing is for sure: Moreirense will try to stifle the game.
It’s what Ricardo Soares’ squad has done since the return to play: In seven matches featuring Monday’s visitors, zero have seen more than two goals scored and their last four have seen an average of 1.0 total goals.
Pick: Under 3 (-128)
Pick 3: Sporting vs Vit. Setubal
Just two points ahead of a resurgent Braga, Ruben Amorim’s Sporting (18-5-9) have plenty to play for as they face a desperate and heavily-slumping Vitoria Setubal (6-12-14).
A 2-nil defeat at Porto on Wednesday aside, it’s been a steady return to play for the Leoes and the club boasts more than enough firepower to see off Setubal, who’ve suffered six-straight losses, a fired coach and a TikTok scandal with a loanee from Roma. It’s been a rough month.
With Sporting still competing for something, it’s unlikely Setubal will be able to stick with their high-octane hosts.
Pick: Over 2.5 (+102)
