Sevilla will be looking for an improvement in form to boost their attempt to qualify for next season’s Champions League when they meet Real Valladolid in Spain’s La Liga on Friday. The match kicks of Round 32 in the league.

There have been three successive draws for Sevilla in a run which has seen them slip from third to fourth place, although they remain four points ahead of fifth-placed Getafe.

Real Valladolid are in 15th position and are not completely free of relegation worries after a three-game winless stretch –  although, with 34 points, they have a cushion of eight points above the bottom three drop zone.

A spread offer for Sevilla to win by two goals at -104 is of some interest. However, given Seviila’s recent run of three draws and Valladolid’s slightly improved form since the re-start, the draw at +350 looks to be the best value here.

Champions League Chase

Sevilla are chasing a top four finish which would secure an automatic Champions League group stage place.

With 53 points, they are two behind third-placed Atletico Madrid with the leading pair of Real Madrid and Barcelona both well out of sight on 68 points.

It has been a frustrating re-start for Sevilla after the shut-down caused by the coronavirus.

Sevilla recorded a welcome 2-0 win in the Andalucian derby against city rivals Real Betis in the first match back on June 11.

Before play was suspended, they were on an unbeaten run which included two wins and two draws as they maintained third position following a 2-2 result away against Atletico Madrid on March 7.

Sevilla recorded a welcome 2-0 win in the Andalucian derby against city rivals Real Betis in the first match back on June 11.

But since then they have drawn 1-1 away at 12th-placed Levante, 0-0 at home against Barcelona and 2-2 at sixth-placed Villareal last Tuesday.

This amounts to an eight-match unbeaten run but the team’s ambitions have stuttered with four of those matches ending all-square.

Valladolid were struggling before the suspension of play as they suffered straight defeats away against Real Sociedad and 4-1 at home against Athletic Bilbao.

Things have picked up since the re-start. They won their first return match 2-1 away at Leganes.

That was followed by a 0-0 draw at home against Celta Vigo and a 1-0 reverse away at Atletico Madrid. They then drew 1-1 at home against Getafe last Tuesday.

Last November, there was a 1-0 win for Sevilla when they visited Valladolid. Indeed, Sevilla have won all four of the most recent meetings between the sides.

Goal-Hungry Ocampos

Sevilla will be hoping there will be a return to form for their 11-goal leading striker Lucas Ocampos of Argentina.

He has failed to hit the target in his last three appearances after scoring in five consecutive games up to an including the defeat of Real Betis on June 11.

However,  he will be up against a solid Valladolid side who have one of the better defensive records in the bottom half of the table after conceding 36 goals.

Away from home, Valladolid are the ninth-best team with four wins, four draws and eight defeats. They have scored 11 times but conceded 22.

There have been only two home defeats in La Liga for Sevilla but their statistics on their own patch are not as impressive as they should be for such a high-flying outfit.

They have won seven times and drawn six to compile the 10th-best record – scoring 21 times and conceding 13.

Away from home, Valladolid are the ninth-best team with four wins, four draws and eight defeats. They have scored 11 times but conceded 22.

There are no injury worries for Sevilla but Valladolid could be without striker Sandro Ramirez and right-back Pedro Porro.

Pick: Draw +350
