Predicting the EPL Winner from June 19
Manchester City are favorites at -163 to win the “mini-league” and made an impressive return Wednesday with a 3-0 home win against Arsenal.
That result will not count towards this market as it was a catch-up fixture.
But it was a signal that Pep Guardiola’s team have re-emerged from the shut-down in imperious form, with skipper Kevin De Bruyne in an incisive and creative mood.
City also have the influential Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte back after missing much of the season through injury.
Their intensely-drilled possession style suggests they will be better suited to playing in empty grounds than their rivals. They often make victories look like training sessions.
City face Chelsea at home and Liverpool away during this run-in but otherwise, the fixture list does not look particularly demanding.
They are in the Champions League although it does not recommence until August. They are also in the FA Cup’s last eight.

Liverpool have no European competition or FA Cup distractions.

If they maintain the form which has made them runaway EPL leaders – 27 wins from 29 games – they will also win this “mini-league.”
For this, they are priced at +300, which makes them better value than City.
They can smash the EPL’s record points total and record its biggest winning margin if they remain so relentless.
However, coach Jurgen Klopp may blood some youngsters once the title is won, which may affect results. They face Manchester City and Arsenal away and Chelsea at home.
Manchester United are third favorites in this market at +1200 and are chasing a Champions League qualifying place.
The form of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s fifth-placed team had picked up with three wins in an unbeaten run of four games – including defeats of Chelsea and Manchester City.
The arrival of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes has lifted the side. And they face only third-placed Leicester City on the final day and sixth-placed Sheffield United from the top six.
Their Europa League involvement will not recommence until August.

The fourth mini-league favorites are Chelsea at +1400. Currently fourth, they are also seeking to maintain a Champions League qualifying place.
They signed off in March with a 4-0 thrashing of Everton.
They meet Manchester City and Liverpool during the run-in. They face Leicester City in the last eight of the FA Cup which could present boss Frank Lampard with his first trophy.
Pick: Liverpool +300

Will Aguero Win the Run-In Scoring Race?
Sergio Aguero of Manchester City is favored to top the “mini-league” scoring charts at +450, although Jamie Vardy is the current leading EPL goal-getter with 19.
Aguero’s current tally is 16 but Gabriel Jesus started ahead of him against Arsenal – so the Argentine may miss more game time.
Vardy is priced only as sixth favorite at +1400. But his energetic, direct style may have benefitted from the enforced rest. This makes him tempting, with no fixture against a top-six side in the next six games.
Harry Kane of Spurs will also hope to have refreshed his sharpness and fitness after being out of action since a hamstring injury of January 1.
He is second-favorite to be the “mini-league” hot-shot at +550 after hitting 11 league goals.

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool is third in the current goal-scoring charts with 16 and third favorite to top the “mini-league” at +650.
Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City has scored 10 times this season but failed to hit the net against Arsenal.
This looks good value, too, if his team remains so remorseless.

His teammate Raheem Sterling is a better value prospect at +1000 after scoring for the first time in 2020 against Arsenal. That took his EPL total to 12 goals.
Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the EPL’s current second-leading scorer with 17 goals. But in a reflection of his team’s general prospects, his price is +1400.
Pick: Jamie Vardy +1400
