After a tough game in the Champions against Bulgarian FK Ludogorets (2-1), Real Madrid will receive Athletic de Bilbao in the seventh fixture of the Spanish La Liga, this Sunday, October 5 in the Santiago Bernabeu at 15:00 ET.

In the Spanish La Liga odds for this game, the Blancos are the heavy favorites to win the match. They are listed -500 in the money line, while Bilbao is +1400, and the draw is rated with +550.

Real Madrid arrives at this game in a good streak. Including Champions and the local tournament, they have won their last five matches in a row. Indeed, they have scored 22 goals and only received three. The victories have helped the Blancos revert their horrible beginning at the Spanish Liga. Now they appear in the fifth position of the tournament with 12 points (4W, 0D, 2L) and +11 in their goal difference.

In contrast, the Bilbao scenario is completely different. They are also in a streak but in a bad one. Including Champions and La Liga, they haven’t won in their last six games. What’s more, their last win was in August 30 against Levante (3-0) in the second week off La Liga. In the Spanish local tournament they are in the 16th position with only four points (1W, 1D, 4L), and -2 in their goal difference.

Besides, Athletic has not won in the Santiago Bernabeu in 14 years and seven months since they have lost in their last nine visits to the Santiago Bernabeu. Also, Real Madrid has an average of 3.67 goals per game against Athletic in those nine games.

Consequently, on the paper, Madrid should not have any problem to beat Bilbao next Sunday.
