The final four are all set in Mexico, as the semifinals of the tournament will begin tonight with Dominik Koepfer and Alexander Zverev set to take the court at 10:00 PM ET, and Stefanos Tsitsipas and Lorenzo Musetti taking the court at 12:00 AM ET.

It should be an interesting couple of matches, with both having a heavy favorite in the seeded player. But both of the unseeded players competing have had great tournaments so far, so don’t be too quick to write either of them off.

Koepfer has dominated in every round so far, not dropping a set yet, and Musetti has contributed to the week of upsets that we’ve seen take place this tournament

Take a look below for the odds and a preview of both semifinal matches.

Can Koepfer’s Dream Week Continue?

World No. 71 Koepfer finds himself in the semifinals as he continues a strong showing this week in Mexico. Not one that many had their eyes on to begin with, he’s now gaining some momentum. He defeated fourth seed Milos Raonic 6-4, 6-2 in the Round of 16 to earn a spot in the quarterfinals.

He then faced Cameron Norrie in the quarters, and defeated the Brit 7-5, 6-4. His strong showing has not gone unnoticed here. With the win, he’s now reached his first career ATP semifinal.

Koepfer will look to continue his dream week, but he’ll have to get through another tough opponent in Zverev.

The Favorite

Zverev will enter this semifinal match having only taken to the court twice this tournament, as his quarterfinal opponent Casper Ruud had to withdraw due to injury. Rudd would’ve been his toughest opponent in the tournament so far.

The experienced 23-year old is still looking to make his first final of 2021. On paper, it looks like this semifinal match should be a breeze for him, but I wouldn’t say it’ll be an easy match. And with the lack of court time this week, that could either help him, or do the exact opposite.

Head-to-Head & Best Bet

This will be the first career meeting between Koepfer and Zverev.

Zverev’s serves is one of the best on tour, and has been a challenge for opponents day in and day out. He’s already recorded 17 aces in just the two matches he’s played this tournament.

Yes, Koepfer is a strong baseline player, with a solid forehand, but I think the experience that Zverev carries despite his young age, will give him the edge. It shouldn’t be a walk in the park, Koepfer will challenge him, but Zverev should be able to secure his spot in the final.

The Pick:  Zverev (-625); 2-1 (+310)

Tsitsipas vs Musetti Semifinal Odds

Prop Moneyline Spread at DraftKings Total
[1] Stefanos Tsitsipas -560 -4.5 (-118) Ov 21.5 (+100)
Lorenzo Musetti +400 +4.5 (-107) Un 21.5 (-125)

No. 1 Tsitsipas

The 22-year old entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed, and has been playing like one. He dominated his opponents in the Round of 32 and Round of 16, but had a slight hiccup when he dropped the second set in his quarterfinal match against Canadian, Felix Auger Aliassime. He managed to pull it together in the deciding set, winning 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in just over two hours.

Musetti the Qualifier

The 19-year old Italian has a couple extra matches under his belt, as he had to make it through qualifiers. But he started off his main draw competition strong knocking of third seed Diego Schwartzman in three sets, setting a tone for the rest of his tournament.

He once again upset his opponent in the quarterfinals when he beat fifth seed Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 7(7)-6(3).

Head-to-Head & Best Bet

This will also be the first career meeting between the two, and it’ll be interesting to see how both players handle each other.

What we’ve seen from Musetti this tournament, and what has brought him so much success here has been his variety in his game. He can change the pace and rhythm by mixing in big, strong groundstrokes with drop shots and his amazing front court skills.

We’ve seen Tsitsipas struggle in the past when his opponents do try and change the pace of the game by adding variety. But on the other hand, if Tsitsipas is able to come out strong and dictate the pace, he should be able to find himself in the finals.

The Pick: Tsitsipas (-560); 2-1 (+310)
