Sinner’s Maiden ATP Masters 1000 Semifinal
With his quarterfinal win against Alexander Bublik, Sinner has become the eighth teenager to reach the semifinals at the Miami Open. Of those seven other players, five have been ranked World No. 1 at one point in their career. Sinner has joined the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray.
Sinner went on to beat Bublik 7-6(5), 6-4, in just over an hour and a half.
The young Italian dominated the first set with his variety of shots, and strong forehands and returns. But he found himself down 0-3 in the second set. He was able to keep his composer to climb back and continued to play into his strengths that led to a successful first set. His shot selection kept Bublik on his toes, and he was able to seal the victory with a strong forehand.

Sinner will be looking to make his second ATP final of the year, but he’ll have to get through Bautista Agut first.
Bautista Agut Stuns Medvedev
The World No. 12 started his tournament with a walkover when his opponent Lloyd Harris pulled out of the tournament for an undisclosed injury at the time. He then had his next two matches go three sets before going up against the No. 1 seed, Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals.

Bautista Agut stunned Medvedev and won 6-4, 6-2, in a straightforward win, that earned him a spot in his fourth ATP Masters 1000 semifinal. Despite the impressive win against the second best-ranked player in the world, Bautista Agut has had success against Medvedev in the past, leading their head-to-head record 2-0 heading into the match.
From start to finish Medvedev never looked comfortable. The Spaniard outplayed his opponent from all areas of the court, but specifically the baseline. And despite Medvedev’s eight recorded aces to Bautista Agut’s zero, the 32-year old’s serve was fairly strong, recording a 70 percent win percentage on his first serve.

Both Bautista Agut and Sinner have been playing competitive tennis all week. Sinner has really shown the world his abilities at just 19-years old this tournament. He’s showcased his ability to stay calm and collected, to overcome tiebreakers, as well as hit some timely, strong winners.
There’s a certain level of expectation that comes with a player like Bautista Agut. The Spaniard has shown his strengths over the years, and we’ve come to expect a certain level of play. He has a very strong baseline game, which we’ve seen this tournament.
