The Atlanta Falcons will try to keep proving they are the best team in the NFL as they face their archrivals, the New Orleans Saints, this Sunday at 1 PM ET at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The Falcons are 8-0 but somehow they are not getting the respect of the league; a win over the high powered offensive Saints will chance the scene. “We’re not concerned with the doubters,” Michael Turner said after last Sunday. “This team’s main focus is coming out and getting a win each game”.
“I think at the end of the day it’s a league that’s based on wins and losses and (Sunday) was a solid effort by this team and we did what we needed to do to come out with a win,” said Matt Ryan about the victory against the Dallas Cowboys last week.
The Saints love this type of games, but they require not only and effort from Drew Brees and the offense, but especially from their defense.
“There are defining moments throughout a season,” said Brees. “Big plays, big wins, that kind of bring you together and let you see a vision of what you can be, what you can accomplish.
“This,” he added, “is the type of momentum we want going into the second half of the season”.
New Orleans is 6-18-1 ATS in its last 25 games when playing at home against Atlanta, and the Saints are 11-2 SU in its last 13 games at home.
The lines have the Falcons as 2.5 road favorites.
