Andy Murray is one win away from another Wimbledon final as he has 22 year old Jerzy Janowicz as his only obstacle.  The British and the polish will clash in the semifinal this Friday at the all England Club.

Murray-Wimbledon2013Murray was really close of losing on Wednesday against Fernando Vesdasco; the Spanish was up 2 sets to none but failed to close the deal, and the British took a momentum swing in the third and win the match 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 7-5.

“Great atmosphere at the end of the match. … I love it when it’s like that. It was extremely noisy,” said Murray. “They were right into it, pretty much every single point.”

“When you play more and more matches, and gain more experience, you understand how to turn matches around and how to change the momentum of games,” Murray said. “Maybe when I was younger, I could have lost that match. But I think I’ve learned how to come back from tough situations more as I got older.”

Janowicz beat 130th-ranked Lukasz Kubot 7-5, 6-4, 6-4 in a match between two friends who play doubles all the time.  This is the first time a Polish reach a Wimbledon semifinal.

“It’s not easy to control all of the feelings inside my body,” he said. “I was never in (a major) quarterfinal before. I never had a chance to be in (the) semifinal of a Grand Slam. I never played against Lukasz before.”

Last year Janowicz defeated Murray 2 sets to one in a tournament in Paris; that’s the only time they’ve met before.

Murray is -625 favorite in the moneyline and Janowicz is listed as dog paying +375 for a $100 bet.
