Top 2022 Stanley Cup Contenders

Here are some more notes on the movement of the top contenders for the 2022 Stanley Cup:

  • [June 21]: Tampa recorded a dominant 6-2 win in Game 3 to get back in the series. Now trailing 2-1 in the best-of-seven, the Lightning are a +240 bet to win the Cup, a big improvement from the +500 odds they were sporting a day ago.
  • [June 18]: Up 2-0, the Avalanche have improved to -600 to win their first Stanley Cup since 2001. Tampa has faded to +500 in its quest to win a third straight championship.
  • [June 11]: Colorado has opened as a -195 favorite over the Lightning in the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup finals.
  • [June 5]: Up 3-0 on Edmonton, Colorado is -190 to lift the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2001.
  • [May 31]: The Rangers are now roughly +500 after decisive Game 7 victory over Carolina. But up next waits two-time defending champion Tampa Bay, who remain second-favorites behind Colorado.

  • [Feb 21]: The Colorado Avalanche’s odds continue to improve even though they are the stand alone favorite. At certain online sportsbooks, the Avalanche are as low as +400.
  • [Feb 16]: As the Flames continue to lead the Pacific Division as they move up the Stanley Cup odds list. Calgary is 9-1 in their last 10 games.
  • [Feb 1]: The Minnesota Wild were the most notable movers in this week’s Stanley Cup odds movement. The Jets continue to slide, now being listed at +8000 in most spots.
  • [Jan 25]: The Capitals have fallen in the Stanley Cup odds as they sit at +2500 to win. The Avalanche continue to separate themselves from the rest with wins in their seven of their last eight games.

  • [Jan 3]: The Minnesota wild have taken a step back in Stanley Cup odds. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes have surged since the NHL came back from their temporary COVID-pause. The Avalanche are the sole favorites at +550.
