MLS Cup Top Contenders

  • [Nov 3] The MLS Cup Final kicks off on the weekend and after a 3-0 win over Austin by LAFC and a 3-1 win over NYCFC for Philadelphia both top seeds will meet in the final for the first time since 2003. LAFC are given odds of -225 to lift the trophy

  • [May 30] Heading into the international break after Week 14, NYCFC’s odds have shortened significantly since earlier this month from +950 to +450. New England’s odds are falling from +1500 to +2500.
  • [May 11] Over the last month LAFC have clearly risen to the top of the pack and their odds have shortened from +600 to +350.
  • [Mar 30] A strong start for Columbus has seen their average odds shorten from +3100 to +2100.
  • [Feb 1] The 2021 Supporters’ Shield winning New England Revolution have opened as co-favorites with the Seattle Sounders at +600 odds, closely followed by LAFC at +900.

MLS Eastern Conference Champion Odds

  • [May 11] New England finds themselves currently out of the playoff picture in the East and their odds to win the conference have dropped to +800 from +400

New York City FC defeated the Portland Timbers in penalties in MLS Cup 2021 to win their club’s first title.

The 2022 season welcomes the league’s 28th team, Charlotte FC who will play in the Eastern Conference. To balance out the conferences, Nashville SC will now move to the West.

Teams with the Most MLS Cup Victories

The Galaxy have won five MLS Cup Finals and have been runners-up on four more occasions. Their last title came in 2014 against the New England Revolution. With their win last year, the Crew are now one of five teams with two titles to their name. Seattle, another team with two titles, have reached the MLS Cup Final in four of the past five years.
