One game, one change to become the nation’s best. The Kentucky Wildcats take on the Connecticut Huskies in the 2014 March Madness Final, this Monday at 9:10 PM ET at the AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas.
Kentucky is a 3 point favorite in the basketball betting odds, and the game total is at 134.5 points.
“We all play the game of basketball to compete against the best,” Huskies All-American Shabazz Napier said. “This is one of them games. … They worked hard to get to this point and we did too. We’re going to do our best to get this `W.”
Kentucky has been outstanding in the tournament; first taking the undefeated Wichita State Shockers, then the champions Louisville Cardinals, next Michigan and finally the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday. They are 4-0-1 against the spread in the tournament.
“We just had too much talent and we saw in spurts how good we could be,” Wildcats playmaker Julius Randle said, “so it just felt like it was a matter of time before it clicked.”
The UConn Huskies are 5-0 against the spread in this March Madness; they covered it four times as an underdog and once, the first game, as the favorite. They have done it with great defense and discipline from his young coach Kevin Ollie.
“Hopefully, we have an opportunity to fall back on our defense,” second-year coach Kevin Ollie said. “We have been doing that the whole year.”
UConn leads the series 3-1 since 2006.
