Bet %

The bet % metric shows you what percentage of the total betting volume falls on either side of the betting line. In other words, it allows you to see which side of the line is taking more action in terms of total number of wagers placed. This is the easiest way to see which side is favored by the public.

Money %

How to Read College Football Odds

Even if you’ve been a longtime football fan, you may be wondering how to read the moneyline, point spread, and over/under CFB odds found on this page. We know there are lots of people out there betting college football games for the first time, and our resources are here to help.

Check out this guide to understanding sports betting odds for a complete tutorial on odds for each football wagering type. If you’re looking to jump straight into the action, here are the basics:

College Football Moneyline Odds

The moneyline is the simplest way to bet on football. All you need to do is pick one team to win the game outright. Select “moneyline” in the feed preferences above and have a look at the odds on each CFB line.

The positive number is the odds for the underdog. This is the amount you stand to profit if you place a $100 bet on the underdog.

The negative number is the odds for the favorite. This is the amount you’ll need to risk in order to return a $100 profit backing the favorite.

In rare cases with extremely close matchups, both teams have negative odds. In this case, the side with the larger negative number is the favorite.

College Football Point Spread Odds

The point spread allows you to back either side even in situations where the sides aren’t closely matched. Select “spread” to see the odds for this week’s college football spreads.

When betting the spread, the favorite “gives” points while the underdog “gets” points added to their final score. The amount of points given/taken is the spread – you’ll see this number displayed next to a (+) for the underdog (since they are getting extra points) and a (-) for the favorite (since points are being subtracted.

To cover the spread, a favorite must win the game by the margin of the point spread. An underdog covers anytime they win the game outright or lose by less than the margin outlined by the spread.

Next to the point spread, you’ll find odds like those you’d see on the moneyline. These will generally be in the range of -105 to -115 for most football point spreads, indicating the amount you need to risk to win $100.

College Football Over/Under (Totals) Odds

Totals are a great option when you want to bet a college football game but don’t particularly want to wager on either team. Commonly known as the over/under, totals betting asks you to wager on whether the final score with be over or under the total set by the oddsmakers.

Compare NCAAF over/unders by selecting “total” in preferences. You’ll see a large number with both (o) & (u) – this is the total. Bet on the final score to be over or under this number.

Like the point spread, you’ll see odds associated with taking the over or under. With some exceptions, expect to see these odds in the range of -105 to -115 when betting football totals.

College Football Bowl Odds

Tracking odds movement on college football bowl game betting lines is one of the most effective ways to find value in some of the best games of the year. Keeping tabs on line movement is especially beneficial for college Bowl Game point spreads.

If you want to bet Alabama, Arizona State, Miami, Texas A&M, or any other college football programs, we’ve got you covered with tips and tricks to boost your wagering clarity. Follow our previews for college Bowl Games and odds closely to help pad your bankroll while betting on big NCAAF matchups.

College Football Futures – Bet on the National Championship, CFP, & More

Futures odds allow you to bet on the biggest events in college football far in advance. These bets focus on the highest-profile games and awards of the year.

For instance, you can pick conference winners for conferences like the ACC, Big Ten, and SEC, and more.  You can also back teams to a berth in the four team College Football Playoff, or even pick the winner of the CFP National Championship.

While there are fewer player futures for college football vs the NFL, betting Heisman Trophy odds is one of the most popular college football bets of all.

Successfully betting CFB futures is all about timing. Payouts tend to be biggest the earlier you jump into the action, but the longer you wait, the more info you’ll have.

You can track futures odds for the college football National Championship, playoffs, Heisman Trophy and more all year long using SportsBettingDime’s NCAAF futures trackers:

Vegas College Football Odds vs. Online Sportsbook Odds

If you’ve been watching college football for years, or even decades, you’re probably familiar with pundits and commentators referencing the “Vegas Odds” when discussing sporting events.

As legal online sports betting becomes increasingly available in the US and elsewhere you might be wondering:

What are Las Vegas college football odds? Are Vegas odds for CFB games any different than those offered at sport betting apps and online sportsbooks?

Generally speaking, odds like those featured on this page will be in-line with what you could expect to see a brick-and-mortar sportsbook in a Vegas casino.

More than anything, “Vegas odds” have become something of a catch-all phrase to describe the lines offered at top sportsbooks, whether betting online or in-person.

Best Sportsbooks for College Football

As you can see from the current CFB odds listed above, it can pay off to open accounts at a few top betting apps so that you can quickly bet with whoever offers the best odds from tonight’s game all the way through to bowl game season.
