Lille and Monaco meet in a battle of France’s Ligue1 high-flyers on Sunday as both teams hunt down leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Second-placed Lille and fourth-placed Monaco each have 23 points. However, Lille has a better goal difference.

Monaco are the form team after four straight league wins. Lille have only one victory in their last five Ligue 1 fixtures.

There may be an inspiration for the visiting team in the memory of the last meeting of these two teams. Monaco was 5-1 winners at home in December last year.

Against that, Lille have lost only one domestic league match this season. Monaco have been beaten three times.

At DraftKings, Lille are favorites for a home win at +133 at 7:00 am ET on Sunday.

Monaco are priced at +188 with the draw at +250.

A low-scoring win for Lille looks most likely here. This does not offer much spread opportunity. The best value is a straight win for Lille at +133. The draw is also tempting at +250.

Yilmaz Double Strike in UEL

Lille have been in good form in the Europa League and secured a 2-1 win at home against Sparta Prague on Thursday. Top goalscorer Burak Yilmaz got both goals.

Meanwhile, Monaco have been in a free-scoring mood during their recent run of four victories with 12 goals scored and only four conceded.

With 23 goals, they are the competition’s second-leading scorers after PSG.

But with 16 goals conceded, they have the joint-worst defensive record in the top six along with fifth-placed Montpellier.

This spell has also included a 3-2 defeat of mighty PSG in Monaco, although three of the four matches have been at home.

Second-leading goalscorer Kevin Volland has hit three of his five goals during this period.

Veteran midfielder Cesc Fabregas continues to be influential for Monaco.

The sequence began with a 4-0 hammering at the home of Bordeaux before a 2-1 win away against southern French rivals Nice.

Then came the victory against PSG before last weekend’s 3-0 win at home against Nimes.

Veteran midfielder Cesc Fabregas continues to be influential for Monaco. And the four-match winning spell has restored confidence all-round. It came after a stuttering prior spell during which the team failed to win in three games and were thrashed 4-1 at Lyon.

Lille were briefly the league leaders after a 4-0 triumph against Lens on Matchday 7.

But they have fallen seven points behind the first-placed PSG during their current inconsistent run.

That win was followed by a 1-1 draw at Nice. Then came another 1-1 result at home against Lyon.

A 3-2 defeat at mid-table Brest came next before the sole success of recent weeks; a 4-0 defeat of Lorient who are currently placed 18th.

Last week they were held 1-1 away at 15th-placed St. Etienne.

Lille Strong At Home

It could be Lille’s impressive home record which is significant.

They have the second-best statistics in the division at their own HQ – behind Monaco –  with four wins, two draws and no defeats.

In these six games, they have scored 13 times and conceded only twice.

By contrast, Monaco are unimpressive on the road with only the league’s 14th best record; two wins, no draws and three defeats with only five goals to their credit and eight against.

The leading scorer for Lille is the Turkish international striker Yilmaz who has scored six Ligue 1 goals.

Lille have almost matched Monaco’s goal-scoring feats with a tally of 22.

He has not hit the target in the most recent two league games after scoring twice in the defeat by Brest. But he had an excellent evening against Sparta Prague on Thursday.

Lille have almost matched Monaco’s goal-scoring feats with a tally of 22.

But they have a much stronger defensive record with only eight goals conceded.

They now lead their Europa League group ahead of AC Milan and they beat the Italians 3-0 earlier in the season-ending their impressive undefeated run.

Pick: Lille +133
