The red-hot Minnesota Timberwolves (20-21, 8-12 away) will be looking to hit .500 on Wednesday as they visit the lowly Detroit Pistons (11-33, 5-15 home) at Little Caesars Arena in Motown. It’s the second meeting of the campaign between the two, with Detroit winning the first. Find the Timberwolves vs Pistons prediction below.
Minny is winners of four in a row, most recently taking down the Houston Rockets on Sunday by eight points. They appear to be finding a rhythm after a difficult start to the campaign. The Pistons meanwhile have lost three straight, getting blown out by the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday evening.

The Wolves are laying 5.5 points with moneyline odds of -235, going just 10-12 as an ATS favorite. The Pistons sit at +194 and own an ATS underdog record of 19-21-2.
Timberwolves Turning It Around?
After trading for Rudy Gobert in the offseason, a lot more was expected of Minnesota. As of right now, they’re sitting in ninth place in the West, just a half-game back of the final playoff spot. Karl-Anthony Towns has been out since November 28th with a calf injury and is still nowhere close to a return to Minnesota’s NBA lineup. Anthony Edwards is also listed as questionable with hip soreness but is expected to suit up.
The absence of KAT is obviously huge. After all, he’s arguably their best player. However, it appears the Wolves could be turning a corner. Three of their last four victories were against quality teams including the West-leading Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Clippers. The win over Houston also flashed serious offensive promise.

Four of the five starters finished in double-figures, with D’Angelo Russell scoring a team-high 22 points while dishing out six assists. Edwards also had 21 points. Although beating a squad as poor as the Rockets isn’t exactly anything to write home about, Minny kept the unbeaten streak going and continues to find themselves offensively. They’ve also won five of the last six against Detroit, which is another reason for optimism heading into Wednesday’s matchup.
Full Rebuild Mode for Detroit
By no surprise, Detroit is dead last in the Eastern Conference, winning just 11 games. Dwane Casey’s group ranks 25th in offensive rating and 29th in defensive rating while scoring just 111.7 PPG, which puts them 24th in the Association. And after Tuesday’s second consecutive defeat to Philly, the Pistons are just 2-8 in their last 10 contests.
While having no Bojan Bogdanovic surely hurt, there is no excuse for getting destroyed by 31 points. Detroit was abysmal defensively, with Joel Embiid going off for 36 points in just 23 minutes of action before Philadelphia turned to their bench once the game got out of hand.
Final.

🔹@SaddiqBey: 17 PTS / 4 REB / 1 BLK

The Pistons were outscored by 50 points in the paint (82-32) and outrebounded 55-26. This is the type of game Detroit will want to put in the rearview immediately. Hopefully, Bogdanovic can return Wednesday, but it’s unknown at this point. Without him, they lack a true lethal scorer. The next best would be rookie Jaden Ivey, who is showing promise. He dropped 17 versus the Sixers.
Timberwolves vs Pistons Prediction
Minnesota is hot, Detroit is not. I believe in the Wolves to cover the modest spread.
