The Miami Heat was two points ahead in the scoreboard at the fourth quarter of game one, moments before Lebron James left the game with cramps; then, they just gave up and the San Antonio Spurs caught fire. Heat and Spurs clash this Sunday at 8 PM ET at the AT&T Center, in game two of the 2014 NBA finals.
James will be fit to play game two, and Miami will try to avoid getting behind 0-2 in the series, something they have never experienced in the NBA finals since the Big Era started in 2011.
“You can’t think about what may happen in the third or fourth quarter. Live in the moment,” James said. “And for me, whatever I can give my teammates if it happens again, hopefully I can make an impact while I’m on the floor and that’s all that matters to me.”
The Spurs won game one 110-95 and covered the spread that opened with them as 3.5 point favorites and then moved to 5.5; however, they don’t care how they got it done, they know this will be a long series and sending an early message was important.
“That’s why I think we can’t be satisfied,” said point guard Tony Parker. “Because we were in the same situation and we know they can win here, and so we just have to go out there and play our game and try to win this one. I think it’s a big game for the series.”
The NBA Final odds for game two have the Spurs at 4.5 point favorites and the game total is at 198.5.
