New York Online Sports Betting Revenues Remain Steady During Football Season

  • Fanatics Sportsbook maintained its hold as the third best performing operator for the week

New York online sports betting revenues remained steady for the week ending Sept. 21, but more New Yorkers bet more than $22 million more compared with the prior week in the Empire State.

The New York State Gaming Commission reported $555,840,881 in total online sports betting handle for the week ending Sept. 21, more than a $22 million increase from the prior week total of $533,786,360.

Despite the increase in handle, revenues in the state increased by just $37,000 from the previous week.

New York Bags More than $29 Million in Tax Revenue

The New York State Gaming Commission reported $56,899,001 in gross gaming revenues for the week ending Sept. 21, good for a modest increase of about $37,000 from the prior week’s revenue total of $56,862,762.

At the state’s 51% tax rate on gross gaming revenues, New York took in just a little over $29 million in tax revenue for the week.

The New York State Gaming Commission releases handle and revenue reports for its nine live NY sports betting apps, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel, BetMGM, Fanatics Sportsbook, Bally Bet, Resorts World Bet, ESPN BET, and BetRivers, at the conclusion of each week.

Fanatics Sportsbook Maintains Third Spot

Fanatics Sportsbook has continued its strong New York run as of late, maintaining its position as the third most successful operator. The gaming commission reported Fanatics Sportsbook users bet $44,954,228 for the week, which brought in $4,265,688.

However, both the handle and gross gaming revenue totals declined from the prior week. The handle totals declined by $21 million for the week, while revenue totals dropped by $1.3 million.

DraftKings again notched the highest handle total for the week, as customers bet $219,813,406 for the week, topping FanDuel’s total of $193,134,656. FanDuel, however, had the more profitable week, reporting $23,933,689 in gross gaming revenue compared with DraftKings’ $22,443,026 weekly total.
