New York online sports betting just set a new handle record for a single week in the Empire State.
The New York State Gaming Commission reported $655.6 million in online sports betting for the week ending Oct. 26, the most sports bettors have ever wagered in a single week.
New York has only topped $600 million once before in a single week, reporting $600.8 million earlier this year for a single week in January.
New Record For New York
The New York State Gaming Commission reported $655,664,182 in total online sports betting handle for the week ending Oct. 26.
Likely spurring the intense interest? The New York Knicks had their 2025-2026 season opener at home at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, Oct. 22, a 119-111 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Interest in the Knicks is high as the squad is coming off an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The state gaming commission also reported $49.16 million in gross gaming revenue.
Compared with week 8 of last year’s NFL season, the handle totals increased by nearly $79 million this year, but gross gaming revenue decreased by more than $9 million.
At the state’s 51% tax rate, New York took in $25,074,358 in tax revenue for the week.
The New York State Gaming Commission releases handle and revenue reports for its nine live NY sports betting apps, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel, BetMGM, Fanatics Sportsbook, Bally Bet, Resorts World Bet, ESPN BET, and BetRivers, at the conclusion of each week.
FanDuel Maintains Top Spot
FanDuel New York maintained its the top operator spot in the state with a strong week, eclipsing DraftKings NY in both handle and gross gaming revenues. FanDuel reported $251,678,004 in online sports betting handle and $22,208,942 in gross gaming revenue for the week, topping DraftKings’ respective totals of $237,801,402 and $15,427,440.
