Georgetown Hoyas Betting Trends
In the loss to American the Hoyas were without sophomore guard Brandon Murray. Georgetown’s second-leading scorer with 15.4 PPG, Murray was out with a lower-body injury. He’s a game-time decision for this contest. Murray has scored in double figures in four of five games this season.
Sophomore guard Primo Spears led the Hoyas with 15 points in the loss to the Eagles. He was 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Junior forward Akok Akok scored 14 points, pulled down six rebounds and grabbed two steals. Junior guard Jay Heath netted 10 points along with three steals.

For the season, Spears is pacing the Hoyas with 16.3 PPG. Senior center Qudus Wahab is third in scoring (13.2 PPG). Akok is grabbing a team-leading 8.2 rebounds per game. All five starters for Georgetown came to the school via the NCAA transfer portal.
UMBC vs Georgetown Prediction
Only one of five games between UMBC and Georgetown has finished in a Hoyas victory margin of less than 19 points. That was in 2020, when UMBC lost 70-62. Last year, the Hoyas whipped the Retrievers 100-71.
Sophomore center Ryan Mutombo recorded the first double-double of his NCAA career in that game with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Georgetown grabbed 61 rebounds in the game.
Georgetown was the home team in four games vs UMBC. The other meeting came during the opening round of March Madness in 2008.
If Murray is missing again, that certainly narrows the gap between these two teams.
Pick: UMBC Retrievers +11.5 (-110)
