The PGA Championship is just a day away, and there’s no shortage of ways to bet the tournament. We’ve covered outright winners and first round leaders extensively in previous articles, and now it’s time to focus on the other markets. At the top of the list is the make/miss the cut category, where you can always find value to attack. This year is no different, and I’m eying Tony Finau to trunk slam on Friday.

PGA Championship Miss the Cut Pick: Finau to Miss (+140)

  • Tony Finau to Miss the Cut (+140)

Finau has fallen to 37th in the World Rankings thanks to a dreadful 2025 season thus far. He’s lost strokes to the field in five of his past seven starts, and has missed four cuts in 12 tournaments. He trunk slammed at both the Masters and Players, the two biggest events of the season so far, and I’m expecting him to pull off the trifecta by missing the PGA Championship cut as well.

Not only is he in terrible form, but his course history at the Quail Hollow Club is not good. Finau has played 18 rounds at the venue, tied for third most in the field, and ranks 130th in strokes gained approach, and outside the top-50 in ball striking and putting.

PGA Championship Make the Cut Parlay

  • Make the Cut Parlay: Hovland + Rose + Straka + Reed + Lowry + Burmester (+790)

I’m fading Finau, but there’s plenty of golfers to like this week. I’ve cooked up a make the cut parlay of my favorites, that pays +790 if it hits.

It starts with Viktor Hovland, who has back-to-back top-3 finishes at the PGA Championship, and won earlier on Tour this year. Next up is Justin Rose, who was runner-up at the Masters, an has five consecutive T-20 results at this event. Sepp Straka is my next target, who’s gained at least 3.7 strokes on approach in seven straight starts, and is fresh off his second win of the year last week and the Truist.

I’m also adding Patrick Reed, who’s posted multiple top-eight finishes in his past three starts at Quail Hollow, and Shane Lowry who ranks seventh in strokes gained approach and eighth in tee-to-green play over the last 24 rounds. I’ll round out the parlay with Dean Burmester, for all the reasons laid out below.

PGA Championship H2H Picks

  • Dean Burmester over Adam Scott (-115)

As for my favorite h2h picks, I’m targeting Burmester over Adam Scott in a 72-hole matchup. Burmester is flying under the radar this week, largely due to the fact that he plays on LIV. He’s one of the longest players in the field, and has had tons of success both on LIV and in previous Major Championship appearances.

Burmester was a winner last year in Miami, and has posted multiple top-4 results in seven LIV tournaments so far in 2025. He ranks second on the circuit in driving distance and fifth in birdies.

2024 U.S. Open69th
2024 PGA Championship 12th
2023 PGA Championship54th
2022 The Open11th

Burmester didn’t get an invite to the Masters, but finished 12th at the PGA Championship last year and 19th at the Open. He has three top-20 finishes in his last five Majors, which is two more than Scott over the same time frame.

Scott enters this week in some of the worst form of his career. He’s lost strokes to the field in seven straight starts, and has been a negative in the ball striking metrics in three of his past four tournaments. He’s yet to crack the top-30 in any of his 2025 tournaments, and trunk slammed at Augusta a month ago.
