Wednesday HR Parlay Leg #1 – Ben Rice to Hit a Home Run

In order to stay hot, we need to bet hot hitters. That’s just how staying hot works. I can already hear the haters now, “Slop, Ben Rice just hit a home run yesterday, so there’s no way he can hit one today.” Two things about that. One, that rational makes no sense, and two, your head is going to explode when you see the next guy we’re backing.

How on earth are we supposed to turn our backs on a guy who does this to the pitch mix he’ll see tonight?

As always, this is a price game. It will always be a price game. The idea that Ben Rice is +520 is crazy. I get that it’s a lefty/lefty matchup, but the last two home runs Rice has hit have been off a lefty. He’ll see Yusei Kikuchi tonight, who hasn’t really given much up to lefties this season, but not all lefties are created equally. Some smash other lefties and some don’t. I can’t explain it. Lucky for us, we’re backing a lefty that supports lefty/lefty smashing. Feels right.

Wednesday HR Parlay Leg #2 – Cal Raleigh to Hit a Home Run

If home runs have broken your brain so bad that you think guys can’t hit dingers after going deep the game before, turn away. You’re not going to like this one. We’re looking at a guy in Cal Raleigh who went deep twice last night. And now we’re taking him to do it again tonight. That’s crazy.

It’s hard to argue against it once we look at what he does to the pitch mix he’ll see. The man rakes.

Our guy Cal is going to see Trevor Williams, which is a decent look. Williams has only given up seven home runs in 49 innings of work this year, but six of those seven have been to lefties. For the people who don’t think Cal can go deep after doing it twice last night, think again. Cal has already done that once this season, and he even had a stretch where he hit six home runs in six games. Just like Ohtani last night, he shouldn’t be priced this high. Feels easy.
