  • Thursday’s NBA slate includes just two games: Thunder vs Pacers, Nuggets vs Warriors
  • I have generated A.I. NBA picks for both games on today’s schedule
  • See our A.I.’s NBA predictions, including ATS and O/U picks for both games on Oct. 23

The NBA schedule features just two games on Thursday, but they’re both heavyweight tilts. The doubleheader starts with an NBA Finals rematch between the OKC Thunder (1-0, 0-1) ATS visiting the Indiana Pacers (0-0) at 7:30 pm ET, followed by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets (0-0) visiting Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors (1-0, 1-0 ATS) at 10:00 pm ET.

I have asked our internal A.I. to generate its best ATS and O/U picks for both games. The table, below, sets out the picks. Under the table, find the A.I.’s rationale for each bet.

These are the first NBA picks our A.I. has made. I will keep a running tally of its performance throughout the season.

Thunder vs Pacers A.I. Picks

ATS Pick: OKC Thunder -7.0

A.I. rationale: “While the Thunder have a lengthy injury report, the Pacers are missing the single most important player on their roster in Tyrese Haliburton. His absence completely changes the complexion of Indiana’s offense and their ability to compete against elite teams. Recent history and situational trends paint a clear picture for bettors navigating this complex game.

The Thunder have the ultimate trump card in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In a game defined by missing pieces, the presence of a top-tier superstar who can single-handedly control the tempo and generate offense is the deciding factor. The Pacers will rely heavily on Pascal Siakam, but it won’t be enough to overcome the loss of their primary engine.”

Game-Total Pick: OKC vs IND Over 231.5

A.I. rationale: “This is a trickier call, as Indiana’s offense will likely play at a slower pace without its superstar point guard. However, Oklahoma City’s offense remains potent. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander can push the pace and exploit an Indiana defense that will be scrambling to find its identity. We expect OKC to do the heavy lifting here, forcing the Pacers into a higher-scoring affair than they might prefer, ultimately pushing the game total over the number.”

Nuggets vs Warriors A.I. Picks

ATS Pick Denver Nuggets +2.5

A.I. rationale: “While Golden State’s historical 5-2 ATS dominance against Denver creates pause, current circumstances heavily favor the visiting Nuggets. Denver arrives as a fully healthy, cohesive unit that has demolished quality opposition, while the Warriors face significant backcourt depletion and defensive vulnerabilities that directly favor Jokić’s skill set. … The Warriors’ interior defense allowed 62 points in the paint during their last home contest, creating an ideal matchup for Jokić to exploit.”

Game-Total Pick: OKC vs IND Over 231.5

A.I. rationale: “Golden State is 3-1 to the over in its last four home games. The Warriors operate an elite offensive system, ranking 9th in Offensive Rating (118.1) with exceptional 65.6% True Shooting and 17.0 made threes per game. This offensive firepower, combined with the Warriors’ defensive vulnerabilities, including allowing 62 points in the paint and a .545 opponent field goal percentage in their last home game, sets the stage for a high-scoring affair. Jokić is well-positioned to exploit these interior mismatches, further contributing to offensive output from the Nuggets.”
