Game 7 between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder is the public’s last chance to bet on an NBA game until October. With massive amounts of money coming in since the buzzer went to end Game 6, the Indiana/OKC betting trends show that the public is of two minds when it comes to Game 7.

Roughly five hours from tip-off, the ATS betting splits were almost exactly even. The Thunder are currently getting 51% of the ATS handle on 48% of the ATS bets.

The moneyline splits, however, illustrate a very different story. While the bet percentage is almost even (52% to 48% in OKC’s favor), the handle percentage is heavily tilted to the Pacers. Indiana is getting 79% of moneyline handle, which means – on average – the moneyline bets on the Pacers are significantly larger than the moneyline bets on the Thunder.

Generally, that would mean sharp money is on Indiana. But tread carefully with that line of thinking here. Big events like Game 7s attract all types of bettors.

The strongest public betting trend ahead of Game 7 is the over. So far, a massive 89% of O/U wagers and 90% of O/U handle is on over 214.5. The public hasn’t been terribly successful when it comes to game-total wagers, though, as you’ll see in the table below.

The public has gone .500 against the spread and on the moneyline through the first six games of the series, but it’s just 2-4 O/U.

If you’re looking to fade the public in Game 7, bet the under. The public has put a massive 90% of game-total handle on the over five hours from tip-off.

For the playoffs as a whole, the public is just 36-45 against the spread (37-48 including the Play-In Tournament. However, they public hit at 51.55% clip in the regular season (634-596-21).
