The NBA Finals aren’t even over yet, but the Kevin Durant sweepstakes are already heating up.

DraftKings dropped the odds for where the future Hall of Famer lands next season, and it’s looking like Durant’s Phoenix experiment is coming to an end.

After another letdown campaign that saw the Suns miss the playoffs completely, Durant and Phoenix look ready to call it quits. The timing makes sense for both sides.

So where’s KD headed? Let’s break down the odds and find the best value plays in this developing market.

Update (1:00 AM ET, June 14): The Kevin Durant next team odds have shifted dramatically. Minnesota has surged from +400 to -130 favorite, while the Spurs plummeted from +100 to +350. This massive movement suggests sharp money or insider information is driving the market toward the Timberwolves.

The 15-time All-Star still averaged 26.6 points on elite shooting splits, proving he’s got plenty left in the tank. But at 36, Durant needs the right situation to chase that elusive third championship.

Timberwolves Surge to the Top

Minnesota just rocketed from +400 to -130 favorite in a matter of hours. This type of movement usually means sharp money or real information hit the market.

The fit makes perfect sense. Anthony Edwards idolizes Durant, and they built chemistry together at the Paris Olympics. Minnesota’s been knocking on the door with back-to-back Conference Finals appearances but can’t get over the hump.

Durant would instantly solve their late-game offensive issues and give Edwards a co-star who can create his own shot when defenses load up.

Meanwhile, San Antonio crashed from +100 to +350. Remember when Bill Simmons thought a deal was already done? The market says otherwise. Like we mentioned earlier, the Spurs seem more interested in keeping their No. 2 pick and drafting Dylan Harper than trading for a 36-year-old.

The timing of this shift, happening during Game 3 of the Finals, likely means negotiations are heating up behind the scenes.

Dark Horses Worth Your Money

With Minnesota now favored, the value has shifted elsewhere.

Miami at +220 (improved from +250) remains intriguing. Pat Riley doesn’t rebuild, he reloads. And according to Shams Charania, the Heat are still one of three teams receiving serious interest from Phoenix. Tyler Herro’s already recruiting, and a Durant-Herro-Bam trio could make noise in the East.

San Antonio at +350 isn’t terrible value if you believe the hype. But we were skeptical at +100, so why chase them at worse odds? The Wembanyama pairing sounds great on paper, but the Spurs rebuilding timeline never really matched up with Durant’s window.

Houston at +750 still looks like smart money. The Rockets own Phoenix’s future picks, creating natural trade leverage. They’ve got Ime Udoka, Durant’s former assistant coach. Nothing’s changed about why they make sense – the odds just drifted because everyone’s chasing Minnesota.

Top Durant Next Team Pick:

  • Houston Rockets (+750)

Durant Next Team Longshots to Consider

Two teams scream value at their current prices.

The Clippers at +5000 are being slept on. They’ve got the contracts to match, and a Durant-Kawhi-Harden trio would be absolutely filthy. Yeah, they’ve flamed out in the first round three straight years. But talent wins in this league.

Then there’s OKC at +3000. Imagine Durant returning to where it all began, joining forces with SGA and either Chet or Jalen Williams. The Thunder have seven first-rounders to dangle. That’s a championship roster, and the narrative alone would break the internet.

The Knicks dropped to +2000 from +1500 and reportedly aren’t even pursuing KD. Smart move, honestly.

This could all shake out within days. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst is “98 percent sure” Durant gets dealt, possibly before the draft on June 25. The Suns want to move on, Durant wants out, and multiple teams are ready to pull the trigger.

Longshot Pick:

  • LA Clippers (+5000)
