The unbeaten Portland Trail Blazers (3-0, 1-0 home) will be looking to continue their winning ways on Monday evening as they host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets (2-1, 1-1 away) at the Moda Center. The tip-off is scheduled for 10 PM ET. Find the Nuggets vs Blazers prediction below.
Denver is coming off consecutive wins over the Warriors and Thunder following a season opener loss to the new-look Jazz. Meanwhile, the Blazers dealt the Lakers their third defeat of the campaign with an impressive come-from-behind victory on Sunday in the front end of a back-to-back.
Nuggets vs Blazers Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Denver Nuggets | -4 (-110) | -172 | OV 229.5 (-110) |
Portland Trail Blazers | +4 (-110) | +144 | Un 229.5 (-110) |
Odds as of October 23rd at FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Nuggets are 4-point home favorites for Monday’s matchup. They’re 1-2 against the spread so far. A $100 bet on their -172 moneyline would bring you a return of $158. On the other hand, Portland comes back at +144 odds, with a little more betting value. $100 earns you $244 on their moneyline. They’re 2-1 ATS.
In four meetings last season, both teams won twice.

Denver’s Big 3 Back in Business
The Joker somehow carried the Nuggets to the playoffs in 2021-22 without Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray, the team’s other two best players alongside the reigning two-time MVP. But now, they’re both back and we saw exactly what this group is capable of together on Saturday evening.

While it only ended up being a five-point win over OKC, all three made their presence felt. The sweet-shooting Porter led the charge with 22 points on a 5 for 10 clip from three-point land, while Jokic posted his 78th career triple-double, balling out for 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 13 assists. Murray also put up 16 points.

This was the definition of a shootout for Michael Malone’s squad, draining a whopping 53% of their triples and shooting 49% from the field, too. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 18 of his 21 points from deep and simply couldn’t miss as the Nuggets exposed the Thunder’s perimeter defense with some impressive ball movement, dishing out 33 dimes in total.
Blazers Looking Impressive
Portland made several key moves this past summer to bolster their squad around Damian Lillard, most notably trading for Jerami Grant, drafting Shaedon Sharpe, and signing Gary Payton II in free agency. So far, they’re looking solid.

Although GP2 hasn’t played yet due to injury, Grant is fitting in nicely alongside Dame and Sharpe is showing serious promise early in his rookie campaign. Grant drained a game-winning layup on Sunday to beat the Lakers in what was an efficient performance all around. The Blazers trailed 102-95 with under two minutes left to play but continued to claw away, with Dame converting a huge three late in the fourth prior to Grant’s eventual dagger.

Chauncey Billups’ team struggled to contain LA in the paint, getting outscored by 28 points. However, they were notably better on the boards, outrebounding their opposition 52-40 and shooting 37% from deep. Portland held the Lakeshow to a putrid 18% clip from beyond the perimeter, too. Lillard showed out for a game-high of 41 points, while Grant contributed 16.
Nuggets vs Blazers Prediction
Every game between Portland and Denver last season was quite lopsided, therefore the spread is likely the play. Honestly, I’m liking the Nuggets here. They just marched into the Bay Area and beat the defending champs and their Big 3 are all available Monday. Take the visitors to end the Blazers’ streak.
Pick: Nuggets -4 (-110)
