It’s hard to believe the Chicago Blackhawks are facing elimination this Thursday as they take on the Los Angeles Kings at United Center, at 8 PM ET, in game five of the NHL Western Conference Playoffs.
The series is 3-1 in favor of the Kings and all the momentum is going their way.
“Just looking to win Game 5,” coach Joel Quenneville said after the Blackhawks arrived back in Chicago on Tuesday afternoon. “That’s it. Get the momentum back and go from there.”
The Blackhawks know they need the people and the United Center rocking in order to stay alive and force a game six back in Los Angeles; the Kings know it will be crazy.
“We’re expecting their best,” Kings center Trevor Lewis said. “They’re back at home now. We’re expecting them to come out hard. I mean, they’re defending Cup champions. I don’t think they’re going to give up by any means.”
Los Angeles has won three in a row; the last game of the series had the Kings winning 5-2.
“I think some things happened last game that are uncharacteristic, but at the same time you have to give L.A. credit. They’re forcing us into different situations. We (have) got to be better and we will be better.”
The Chicago Blackahawks are listed -140 to win game 5 and the Los Angeles Kings are +127, according to the money line. The puck line has the home team 1.5 favorite and the game total is at 5 goals.
