You know there will be tension in the building when the Minnesota Wild and the Colorado Avalanche meet for game 7 of the NHL first round playoffs this Wednesday, at 9:30 PM ET at Pepsi Center, in Denver.

Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy knows a thing or two about playing decisive games, but this is the first time he will face one as the coach of a team, which, by the way, doesn’t have as much experience as you want in these situations.

“How good is this?” Roy said. “They’re excited about it and they should be. … We’re playing Game 7 in our building, in front of our fans.”

The Wild knows they will have to fight against the Avalanche and a noisy building that will be rocking on Wednesday; however, they want to make the fewer mistakes possible in order to have a shot to advance.

“(Game 7s) are the best and also the worst,” Wild coach Mike Yeo said. “You have so much on the line — the players laying it all out there, the passion and the energy of the building and the fans. There’s just so much at stake.”

The NHL odds have the Avalanche -1.5 goals favorites in the puck like, plus the game total is at 5 goals.  In terms of the money line, a Colorado victory is listed -145, while a Minnesota upset is at +125.

Colorado is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games when playing at home against Minnesota.
