  • NHL Draft props offer value betting opportunities beyond the consensus picks

While the chalk plays dominate NHL Draft betting, the real value often lies in the prop markets where public perception hasn’t caught up to insider information.

Draft props create unique opportunities. Teams reach for needs. Smokescreens throw off the consensus. And suddenly that +400 longshot doesn’t look so long anymore.

After combing through the odds and cross-referencing with late intel, I’ve identified four draft props offering serious value. Here are my favorite plus-money NHL Draft picks for Friday night.

Vaclav Nestrasil Offers Value to go Round 1

This might be the best value prop on the board. Nestrasil, a 6-foot-5 Czech forward, has been flying under the radar all season. But NHL teams love size, and they love it even more when it comes with skill.

The Athletic’s Scott Wheeler mentioned teams are higher on Nestrasil than public rankings suggest. He put up 27 points in 43 games in Russia’s junior league, solid production for a player his size. Teams picking in the 25-32 range need exactly what he offers: projectable size with legitimate offensive upside.

At +175, we’re getting nearly 2-to-1 odds on a player multiple sources say will hear his name called Friday night. Nashville (26), Washington (27), and Winnipeg (28) all make sense as landing spots. Even San Jose with that extra pick at 30 could bite.

  • Pick: Vaclav Nestrasil Round 1: (+175)

Daniil Prokhorov Undervalued in Draft Position Odds

Here’s a draft prop the public hasn’t caught onto yet. Prokhorov, the 6-foot-5 Russian winger, has been climbing boards faster than odds can adjust.

The Athletic reports multiple teams are prepared to take Prokhorov in the first round, with some considering him as early as the late teens. The comparison to Valeri Nichushkin has teams intrigued – same size, same power game, same Russian development path.

Philadelphia at 22 makes perfect sense. They have three first-round picks and can afford to swing on upside. Nashville at 23 or 26 also fits, as does Washington at 27. But if the Flyers bite at 22, this prop cashes easily. Getting basically even money when he could go 4-5 picks earlier? That’s the edge I’m looking for.

  • Pick: Daniil Prokhorov Under 26.5: (-110)

Head-to-Head Draft Props

First to be DraftedJoshua Ravensbergen-270
Semyon Frolov+200

Semyon Frolov vs Joshua Ravensbergen H2H Pick

This head-to-head prop offers sneaky value. While Ravensbergen gets all the pub as the top goalie, Frolov has his supporters. Some scouts actually prefer the Russian’s upside.

The Athletic noted teams are split on which goalie to target. Frolov’s 6-foot-3 frame and athletic style remind scouts of Igor Shesterkin. If even one team in the first round prefers Frolov, this prop hits at 2-to-1 odds.

Nashville holding three first-round picks becomes key here. The consensus says they take Ravensbergen. But what if they prefer Frolov’s higher ceiling? Or what if another team jumps in front of them? At +200, we only need one team to zag when others zig.

  • Pick: Semyon Frolov before Ravensbergen: +200

Victor Eklund is Worth Top-10 Sprinkle

Eklund’s the wild card that could pay off big. The Swedish winger put up 31 points in 42 games in Allsvenskan, leading all U20 players. His compete level at the World Juniors turned heads.

Here’s the angle: Seattle at 8 desperately needs skill on the wing. Buffalo at 9 could use his style of play. Even Anaheim at 10 makes sense given their history of swinging on skilled Europeans. NHL.com’s Adam Kimelman has him going to Anaheim in his latest mock.

Brother William went 7th overall to San Jose in 2021. Teams love bloodlines, and Victor plays with the same edge despite being smaller. At +250 for a top-10 pick, we’re essentially betting one team falls in love with his compete level. Given how he played at the World Juniors, that’s not a crazy proposition.

  • Pick: Victor Eklund Top 10: (+250)
