After suffering a humbling 6-1 defeat in Game 3, the Edmonton Oilers find themselves in a must-win Game 4 against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. History shows that teams that go up 3-1 in a best-of-seven series have gone on to win the series over 90% of the time.

Game 3 was a completely different story from the tight, back-and-forth battles we saw in the first two games, with Florida dominating in every aspect. Can Edmonton flip the script?

The table below shows the main player props for Oilers vs Panthers Game 4. Under the table, find my favorite NHL player props to target on Thursday night and my best same-game parlay.

The best odds to score a goal belong to Oilers’ leading goalscorer Leon Draisaitl at +115 despite Edmonton’s series deficit. Connor McDavid follows at +160, while Sam Bennett leads the Panthers’ odds at +200, looking to extend his goal-scoring streak to five consecutive games.

Bennett now leads all players with 14 playoff goals, while McDavid’s 31 points (6 goals, 25 assists) make him the postseason’s scoring leader despite being held pointless in Game 3. Brad Marchand has scored in three straight games for Florida.

EDM vs FLA Game 4 Pick #1: McDavid Over 3.5 Shots

My first play for Game 4 focuses on Connor McDavid to register at least four shots on goal. After being completely neutralized in Game 3 (registering just two shots), expect the Oilers captain to respond in a massive way with his team’s back against the wall.

McDavid was visibly frustrated in Game 3, and historically, he has bounced back strongly after poor performances. In these playoffs, he’s averaged 3.8 shots per game and has hit the four-shot mark in nine of 19 games played. More importantly, after each of his two pointless games this postseason, McDavid responded with four shots on goal in the following game.

The Oilers simply cannot afford to go down 3-1 in this series, and I expect McDavid to take matters into his own hands by being much more aggressive offensively. Look for him to shoot early and often as Edmonton tries to avoid the Panthers taking complete control of this series.

Oilers/Panthers Pick #2: Bennett Anytime Goal Scorer

Sam Bennett has been the Panthers’ most dangerous offensive weapon throughout the playoffs, leading all players with 14 goals. Remarkably, he’s found the back of the net in four consecutive games, including once in each game of this Stanley Cup Final series.

Bennett’s outstanding shooting percentage of 23.3% in the playoffs demonstrates his efficiency, and he’s been getting prime opportunities centering Florida’s second line. The physical center has also benefited from Edmonton’s penalty troubles, scoring once on the power play in this series.

With all the momentum on Florida’s side after Game 3’s dominant performance, I expect Bennett to continue his scoring streak at home, where the Panthers have been significantly better all season. At +175 odds, this presents excellent value for a player who’s scored in seven of his last 10 playoff games.

Oilers vs Panthers Same-Game Parlay for Game 4

For my same-game parlay, I’m targeting a combination of player props that have shown consistency throughout this series. Specifically, I’m pairing Sam Reinhart to register over 2.5 shots on goal with Connor McDavid to record at least one point.

Reinhart has recorded at least three shots in all three games of this series so far, making his over 2.5 shots line appear quite safe. Meanwhile, McDavid has only been held pointless once in his last nine playoff games, and I expect a strong bounce-back performance after being shut out in Game 3. The Oilers captain simply cannot be contained for two consecutive games, especially in such a critical situation.

Combining these two props gives us attractive odds at +105, offering a solid return on investment for outcomes that have a high probability of hitting based on recent performance trends.
