The 2025 Stanley Cup Final has turned into an absolute classic as the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers head back to Rogers Place for an all-important Game 5 on Saturday night. After the Oilers’ historic comeback from a 3-0 deficit to win Game 4 in overtime, the series is now deadlocked at two games apiece.
Three of the first four games have required overtime to determine a winner, showcasing just how evenly matched these two hockey powerhouses are. With home-ice advantage back in their favor, the Oilers look to take a 3-2 series lead while the Panthers aim to steal another game in Edmonton.
The table below shows the main player props for Oilers vs Panthers Game 5. Under the table, find my favorite NHL player props to target on Saturday night and my best same-game parlay.
Panthers vs Oilers Player Props for Game 5
Goalie Props
The best odds to score a goal belong to Oilers’ Leon Draisaitl at +105 after his record-setting postseason performance. Connor McDavid follows at +140, still searching for his first goal of the series, while Sam Bennett leads the Panthers’ odds at +200 despite his goal streak ending in Game 4.

The goaltending situation for Edmonton will be closely watched, with Calvin Pickard (+1100 for a shutout) expected to get the start after replacing Stuart Skinner in each of the last two games. Sergei Bobrovsky (+900 for a shutout) continues to man the crease for Florida, having made over 28 saves in each game of the series so far.
FLA vs EDM Pick #1: McDavid Anytime Goal Scorer
My first pick for Game 5 focuses on Connor McDavid to finally break through with his first goal of the Stanley Cup Final. The Oilers captain has been held without a goal in his last six Stanley Cup Final games dating back to last year, despite racking up six assists.
McDavid has been generating plenty of scoring chances with 17 shots on goal through the first four games of the series, averaging 4.25 per game. He’s been snakebitten despite creating seven individual high-danger chances, per Natural Stat Trick. Game 5 on home ice presents the perfect opportunity for the world’s best player to find the back of the net.
With the series momentum now shifted back in Edmonton’s favor after their historic Game 4 comeback, expect McDavid to elevate his game even further and finally convert on one of his many chances. At +140 odds, there’s excellent value on the Oilers superstar to light the lamp in this pivotal matchup.
- Pick: McDavid anytime goal scorer (+140 at DraftKings)
Panthers/Oilers Pick #2: Darnell Nurse Over 1.5 Shots
My second play for Game 5 focuses on Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse to register at least two shots on goal. This prop has been consistent lately, as Nurse has recorded two or more shots in three straight Stanley Cup Final games. This includes a four-shot performance in Game 4 where he also tallied a goal and an assist.
Darnell Nurse Shots on Goal Log
The Oilers’ blueliner has been increasingly involved in the offensive zone as the series has progressed, and the team will need his contributions from the point to break through Florida’s defensive structure. At Rogers Place, Nurse tends to be even more aggressive in jumping into the play and getting pucks toward the net.
This prop offers excellent value at -130 odds considering how consistently Nurse has been shooting throughout the playoffs (2.10 Shots/GP). With the Oilers likely to push the pace at home in this crucial Game 5, expect Nurse to have multiple opportunities to fire pucks on net as Edmonton looks to take their first series lead.
- Pick: Nurse over 1.5 shots on goal (-130 at DraftKings)
Panthers vs Oilers Same-Game Parlay for Game 5
For my same-game parlay, I’m combining two props that have shown consistency throughout this series and offer solid value when paired together. Specifically, I’m taking Connor McDavid to record over 3.5 shots on goal with Sam Bennett to register at least one point.
McDavid has been firing pucks at a high rate in this series, hitting the four-shot mark in two of the four games, including Game 4. With the series now tied and returning to Edmonton, expect the Oilers captain to be extremely aggressive in looking for his own shot as he aims to break his goal-scoring drought.
Meanwhile, Sam Bennett has been Florida’s most dangerous offensive weapon in this series, registering on the scoresheet in all four games. Even though his goal-scoring streak ended, the physical center has been heavily involved in the Panthers’ offense and should at least manage an assist if he doesn’t find the back of the net himself.
Combining these two props yields odds of +225 at Bet365, offering an excellent return for outcomes that have a strong probability of hitting based on how the series has played out so far.
