One of my rules for betting the Stanley Cup Final is that home-ice advantage matters, especially in a rematch. Teams have a much different mentality when they control the last change and feed off their home crowd, and it’s extremely hard for the road team to match that intensity in Game 1.

I’m leaning on Edmonton tonight with the redemption narrative on their side after last year’s heartbreaking seven-game loss to these same Panthers. My expert Panthers vs Oilers same-game parlay starts with the Oilers defending home ice, something they’ve done exceptionally well this postseason.

The second leg of my FLA/EDM SGP is banking on over 6.5 goals between these high-octane offenses. We’ll round out the parlay with 2+ points for Evan Bouchard, who’s become the second-fastest defenseman in NHL history to reach 50 career playoff assists.

Panthers vs Oilers Same-Game Parlay Pick #1: Edmonton Oilers Moneyline

Edmonton enters as -120 favorites, and this line offers solid value for several reasons. The Oilers hold home-ice advantage this time around – a major factor that was missing in last year’s seven-game loss to Florida. Playing at Rogers Place gives them the last change and a raucous crowd behind them.

The Oilers have been dominant on home ice this postseason, winning six of seven contests while averaging 4.71 goals per game. Their recent form backs up the moneyline bet, too. After going down 0-2 in their first-round series against Los Angeles, the Oilers have since compiled a 12-2 record.

Connor McDavid leads all playoff scorers with 26 points, while Leon Draisaitl has added 25. These two superstars have been virtually unstoppable, and they’re particularly dangerous at home with the last change allowing coach Kris Knoblauch to get them favorable matchups.

Another reason to like Edmonton is their ability to create quality chances. The Oilers lead all playoff teams with 146 high-danger shots on goal, 23 more than second-place Florida. This knack for getting to the dirty areas should produce goals against Bobrovsky.

FLA vs EDM SGP Pick #2: Over 6.5 Total Goals

Both teams have lit the lamp consistently throughout the playoffs, with Edmonton averaging 4.06 goals per game and Florida at 3.88. When combined, these teams average nearly eight goals per game, making the posted total look conservative.

8-2Road O/U Record | Home O/U Record5-2

Recent head-to-head history backs up the over too. More than six goals were scored in each regular-season meeting between these teams. Florida’s recent offensive explosion stands out as well – they scored five or more goals in all four victories against Carolina in the Eastern Conference Final, averaging 4.5 goals per game over their last six playoff contests.

Both Sergei Bobrovsky and Stuart Skinner are giving up more than two goals per game in the playoffs. While both goaltenders have played well enough to reach the Final, the offensive weapons they’ll face in Game 1 are a different beast. The pace and style of play between these teams leads to plenty of odd-man rushes and quality chances, with both clubs using aggressive forechecking systems that create turnovers.

Panthers vs Oilers SGP Pick #3: Evan Bouchard 2+ Points

If the Oilers are going to light up the scoreboard and secure a Game 1 victory, Evan Bouchard will likely be right in the middle of it. The 25-year-old defenseman has racked up 17 points in 16 playoff games, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous offensive defensemen in hockey.

Bouchard’s consistency has been impressive, as he leads all defensemen with 11 assists this postseason. He reached 50 career playoff assists in just 60 games, making him the second-fastest defenseman in NHL history to hit that mark, trailing only Bobby Orr. That’s elite company and shows just how productive he’s been when it matters most.

His role as Edmonton’s power play quarterback from the point puts him in perfect position to rack up multiple points, especially if this game features the offensive fireworks we’re expecting. With the Oilers’ power play clicking at 30% and Bouchard’s track record of producing in big games, the 2+ points prop at +320 offers great value in this SGP.
