AC Milan (+150) vs. Sampdoria (+180) (Draw +225)
AC Milan has taken only two of the last nine points available to them in Serie A. On Saturday, November 8, the Rossoneri will host Sampdoria, needing a win to stay within striking distance of the top three. Kick-off will be at 2:45 p.m. Eastern at Luis Ferraris Stadium.
The odds are pretty even heading into the match; Milan is a slight favorite, listed at +150 in the moneyline. A Sampdoria win will pay at +180, and the draw at +225.
In the all-time history between these sides, AC Milan dominates, with 63 wins to 30 for the Samp. In fact, AC Milan hasn’t conceded a single goal in their last three games against Sampdoria in Serie A. But Sampdoria is an invigorated squad this year, sitting fourth in the table after a 12th place finish last year.
After losing to Palermo (2-0) at home last week, the AC Milan coach, Filippo Inzaghi, is aware that his team needs a win against Sampdoria in order to get back on their feet.
“I’m just sorry we lost in front of our own fans, but hopefully we will be able to bounce straight back on Saturday against Sampdoria. I’m sorry that we’ve taken a step backwards, and I hope the players don’t lose their belief because it can happen that you lose a game. We had got carried away, but third place is still within reach,” said the coach in the post-match news conference.
Milan is sitting seventh in the standings with 16 points (4W, 4D, 2L). As mentioned, Sampdoria is fourth in the table with 19 points (5W, 4D, 1L). It is likely that only the top three teams from Serie A will qualify for next year’s Champions League, so both squads will be hungry to gain ground.
