Senior forward Radshad Davis had 13 points for FIU. Junior guard Tevin Brewer added 11 points and freshman wing Dante Wilcox had seven rebounds for the Panthers.
Western Kentucky’s defense posed major problems for FIU. The Panthers committed 18 turnovers and shot just 36.5% (23 of 63) from the field.
The Hilltoppers also had a 22-2 advantage in free throws attempted and outrebounded FIU 51-30.
Daye Tells FIU Goodnight
A bad season for FIU got worse last week when its best player, junior guard Antonio Daye Jr., left the team and entered the transfer portal.
After leading C-USA in assists in 2019-20, Daye was having another outstanding season. He was averaging 17.1 points, 4.7 assists and 2.4 steals while accounting for 32.3% of FIU’s possessions when he was on the floor.

Daye scored in double figures in 19 of 22 games and had a pair of double-doubles.
Davis tried to fill the scoring void Sunday. The graduate transfer from UT Arlington has averages of 12.5 points and 6.1 rebounds while shooting 48.3%.
Davis has been a double-digit scorer in 12 of his 15 games this season.
Senior swingman Eric Lovett is scoring 10.6 points a game. However, he failed to score in 22 minutes Sunday and has reached double figures just twice in the last seven games.
Bassey Double-Double Machine
Bassey is having a big year for Western Kentucky, averaging a double-double with 17.6 points and 11.6 rebounds. He is also blocking a whopping 3.6 shots a game and shooting 60.9%.

Bassey has 13 double-doubles and scored in double figures in all but one of his 20 games.
Hollingsworth has been a steady performer, averaging 13.9 points a game. He is also playing well down the stretch with a 15.8 scoring average over the last four games.
A transfer from Northern Kentucky, Williams’ 21 points Sunday was his top output of the season and came in just 23 minutes as he shot 6 of 7. He has scored at least 10 points in four of the past seven games after doing so just three times in the first 14 games.
Senior guard Josh Anderson is averaging 10.0 points and 1.9 steals and is an 88.3% free throw shooter. However, he sat out Sunday’s game and is also expected to miss Monday’s game with a sprained ankle.

Even though Bassey won’t have his dunking partner again Monday, it should hardly matter. Western Kentucky overwhelmed FIU on Sunday and there is no reason to believe the same thing won’t happen again Monday.
Pick: Western Kentucky -17 (-110)
