Bayer Leverkusen will face the seventh fixture of the German Bundesliga with a lot of confidence on themselves after beating Benfica (3-1) in the UEFA Champions League during midweek. Now, Leverkusen will face the local tournament against the weak Paderborn next Saturday, October 4 in the BayArena at 9:30 ET.
In the Leversuken vs Paderborn odds, the Werkself is the favorite to win the game listed -300 in the money line. In contrast, a Paderborn win will pay +700 and a draw +450.
After scoring three goals in the midweek UEFA Champions League win against Benfica, the coach of Leverkusen Roger Schmidt, said he was pleased with the team performance.
“We created chances a lot better today that we usually do. Apart from that, I think we play very similarly, of how we currently have been playing so far. Unfortunately, our performances in recent weeks haven’t been back up with points of wins. Despite that, we showed it was worth to continue working hard,” said Schmidt.
The captain of the Werkself, Lars Bender, agree with Coach Schmidt about their offensive production. He said after the match that they deserved the win since they did a big effort and scored the chances.
“We were quick to spoil the game for Benfica. And we scored goals early this time and we really deserved to win at the end of the day.”
Leverkusen arrives at this game as the third place of the German Bundesliga with 11 points (3W, 2D, 1L) and +4 in their goal difference. On the other side, Paderborn is on the 11th place of the table with eight points (2W, 2D, 2L) and zero in their goal difference.
In the head-to-head history, both teams have met each other only six times. Leverkusen has won in three occasions; Paderborn won two times and they recorded one draw in their past matches.
