  • Super Regionals start on June 6
  • Four super regional matchups take place on Friday
  • See below for my Super Regional picks and best bets for Friday’s college baseball action

Super regional play begins on Friday, June 6, with four Game 1s. The winner of each super regional will go to Omaha.

There are some intriguing matchups in the supers this year. Two of the top three teams in the College World Series odds play each other in Tennessee and Arkansas. That super regional starts on Saturday. On Friday, there are plenty of exciting pitching matchups, including Florida State vs Oregon State. Then, Coastal Carolina and their 21-game winning streak travel to Auburn for their super regional Game 1.

Keep reading for my college baseball best bets for the super regional games played on June 6, plus a super regional future bet.

College Baseball Pick #1: North Carolina -2.5 vs Arizona (-110)

In Game 1 of the Chapel Hill super regional, Jake Knapp will get the start against Arizona. Knapp has been one of the best pitchers in college baseball. He is 13-0 in his 14 starts and has an unbelievable 1.98 ERA. Batters are hitting just .186 off of him this year. He went 8.1 innings and threw 119 pitches of no-run baseball vs Holy Cross in his last time out during regionals. Knapp allowed just four hits and struck out seven.

That will be a tough test for an Arizona team that cruised through their regional without having to play 1-seed Oregon. In Arizona’s first regional game, they were outhit 10-2 against Cal Poly but still found a way to win. The bats came alive against Utah Valley and Cal Poly in the regional final, but I think they will struggle early in this game.

They have to travel across the country from Arizona to North Carolina and have to play in the early game at noon ET.

North Carolina did have to play in a Game 7, but they have won six of their last seven and are one of the hottest teams in the country. That is because their lineup has started to hit the ball really well. They are averaging just under nine runs per game in their last seven, and players who are not known for hitting home runs are going yard.

They will provide Knapp enough run support for the Tar Heels to cover the run line in Game 1 of the Chapel Hill regional.

College Baseball Pick #2: Louisville -1.5 vs Miami (+108)

I faded Miami in the regionals multiple times and was burned, but I am going to do it again here. I predict that Louisville covers the runline against the Hurricanes on Friday.

Miami’s pitching depth is a concern, and its lineup is not particularly explosive. They were 179th in the country in batting average. That makes this a great matchup for the Cardinals, who allowed just five runs in their three regional games.

In college baseball, when a team has hot pitching, it is tough to fade them. Louisville’s offense should be able to do enough to win by at least two runs against Miami.

The Canes will likely start Griffin Hugus, who has a 3.90 ERA and a 6-7 record. Hugus pitched a complete game in Miami’s 14-1 win over Columbia in his last start. Louisville’s lineup is much better than Columbia’s, but even if Hugus has another solid start, Miami’s bullpen is worrisome.

College Baseball Pick #3: Miami/Louisville Under 12 (-115)

I also like the under in this game. Outside of their game vs Columbia, they never scored more than six runs in their regional. Louisville’s pitching will make things difficult for Miami in Game 1. Then on Louisville’s side, they scored 4 runs, 3 runs, and 6 runs in their regional games.

I am confident that Louisville wins by at least two runs, but I do not see how this game goes over 12 runs.

College Baseball Pick #4: Florida State/Oregon State Under 11.5 (-120)

This could easily be one of the most exciting super regionals. These two teams are evenly matched as shown in the super regional odds. Oregon State got popped in the mouth against Saint Mary’s in their first regional game, then went on to outscore their opponents 50-6 en route to a Corvallis regional win.

Florida State cruised through its regional, beating Bethune-Cookman, then Mississippi State twice. The reason I am betting on the under in Game 1 of this super regional is because of the starting pitching matchup.

The Seminoles have one of the best pitchers in the country in Jamie Arnold. Arnold has a 3.12 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP, and an 8-2 record. Oregon State will have Ethan Kleinschmidt on the mound for the Beavers. Kleinschmidt has a 3.70 ERA and an 8-3 record this season.

Despite having Aiva Arquette (.352 BA and 18 home runs) and a great end to their regional offensively, I believe they will run into trouble against the lefty, Jamie Arnold.

This could easily turn into a pitcher’s duel, so I do not see how this total goes over.

College Baseball Pick #5: Coastal Carolina to Win Super Regional (+124)

Coastal Carolina has won 21 straight games. They have the second-best ERA in the country, and they are poised to reach Omaha for the first time since 2016, when they won it all.

They certainly have the team to do it, but first, they will have to get through Ike Irish and #4 Auburn.

This series will come down to Coastal’s pitching vs Auburn’s lineup, which will be an intriguing matchup. The Chanticleers will likely save ace Jacob Morrison for Game 2 of this super regional. That means it will be Cameron Flukey in Game 1 who has a 3.12 ERA. If Coastal can steal Game 1 in Auburn, the Tigers will have a difficult time in Game 2 vs Morrison, who has a 2.19 ERA and a .90 WHIP.

Auburn’s lineup does pose a threat with Ike Irish, who is hitting .362 and has 18 home runs. They also have three freshmen who have played extremely well at the plate. Auburn scored 9 runs, 8 runs, and 11 runs in their three regional games. Runs will be more difficult to come by in this super regional.

Coastal Carolina might not have the sluggers that Auburn does, but they still know how to put up runs, which was evident in their 18-7 win over East Carolina in their regionals.

The Chanticleers have won 21 in a row and need just two more to reach the College World Series. I am going to bet on the hotter team with the better pitching at plus-money to win the Auburn super regional.
