Kyron Drones Rushing Yards

Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones has long been a dual-threat passer and is a cornerstone of the Hokies’ ground game this season.

Drones has 10 or more carries in three straight games, while clearing 42.5 rushing yards in back-to-back contests. The yards don’t come on fluky scrambles, as 65% of his rushes come from read-options or designed quarterback rushes, where he can use his 6’2, 225-pound frame to punish defenders.

On top of that, Drones has put up 2.1 yards after contact per carry, and is averaging 45 rushing yards per game.

Additionally, the Hokies’ rushing attack ranks 16th in the country in EPA per rush. At the same time, the Cal defense ranks 88th in defensive EPA per rush.

As 6.5-point favorites on Friday night, VT should have plenty of opportunity to dictate the tempo by running Drones to chew the clock. Back Drones to exceed 42.5 rushing yards on Friday night.

  • Friday CFB Player Prop Pick: Kyron Drones over 42.5 rushing yards (-114)

Dylan Riley Rushing Yards

With Ashton Jeanty in the NFL, junior Boise State running back has transformed into the Broncos’ workhorse. Riley has exploded for 100+ yards in four games already, including a monstrous 201-yard demolition of UNLV last week.

Riley ranks among the top-15 among running backs in missed tackles forced, and averages a wild 5.66 yards after contact per attempt.

Boise State runs the ball on over 58% of snaps, which will give Riley plenty of opportunity to slalom around and through a Nevada defense giving up over 159 rushing yards per game. The Wolf Pack rank 128th nationally in EPA allowed per rush, and are allowing 4.5 yards per carry. Game script seals this one.

With the Broncos as 21.5-point favorites, Boise will likely take an early lead and pound the rock to chew the clock. All of which point to Dylan Riley gashing Nevada on the ground.

  • Friday Night College Football Player Prop Pick: Dylan Riley over 93.5 rushing yards (-114)
