After nailing all three picks last time out, I’m back with more CFB ATS picks for college football Week 4. The momentum’s rolling, and there are prime opportunities on Saturday’s slate.
Miami is now laying nearly double digits against Florida, and I still like the Hurricanes to cover. Carson Beck is playing at an elite level, while DJ Lagway can’t stop turning the ball over. That’s a bad combination for the Gators in prime time.
I’m also backing Utah at home against Texas Tech and taking Nebraska with the points against Michigan. Both games have clear edges that the lines don’t fully reflect.
Here’s why these are the best college football teams to back against the spread in Week 4.

CFB ATS Picks #1: Miami -7.5 vs Florida
I’m starting my Week 4 college football against the spread picks with the Hurricanes rolling at home. Carson Beck’s been absolutely cooking, completing 79.3% of his passes with seven touchdowns and just two picks. That’s elite quarterback play against any level of competition.
Meanwhile, DJ Lagway threw five interceptions last week alone. Five! He’s got six picks through three games and now faces a Miami defense with a +4 turnover margin. The Canes are going to feast on those mistakes.
Miami ranks first nationally in offensive SP+, and they’re outscoring opponents by 34.4 points per game. They beat then-No. 18 USF 49-12 last week. Mark Fletcher ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns in that game, giving the Hurricanes balance to complement Beck’s passing.
Florida’s been bad on the road under Billy Napier. They’re 4-10 away from home in his tenure and winless against ranked opponents on the road. Zero wins in those situations. That stat alone tells you what you need to know.
Hard Rock Stadium has been a fortress for Miami. They’re on a nine-game home winning streak and 6-0 against in-state opponents since last season, winning those games by an average of 34.5 points. The crowd will be electric Saturday night for this rivalry matchup.
- Pick: Miami -8.5 (-112 at FanDuel)

CFB ATS Picks #2: Utah -3 vs Texas Tech
Rice-Eccles Stadium has been tough for visiting teams. Utah’s won 24 of their last 29 home games and Texas Tech gets an early 10 AM local kickoff for their first road test. That’s a rough spot for the Red Raiders.
Devon Dampier has been phenomenal for the Utes, completing 73% of his passes with seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. He’s also the team’s leading rusher with 198 yards. His dual-threat ability makes Utah’s offense tough to stop when they’re clicking at home.
Utah’s defense has been stingy, allowing just 8.3 points per game. They’ve given up only two touchdowns total through three games. John Henry Daley leads the nation with five sacks and the Utes have generated nine sacks and five turnovers already.
Baron Morton has put up big numbers for Texas Tech, but he’s done it against Arkansas Pine Bluff, Kent State, and Oregon State. Not exactly world-beaters. Morton has an 80 passing grade at home versus just 59 on the road in his career. He struggles under pressure with a 35.5 grade when not kept clean.
The Utes went 0-4 at home in Big 12 play last season. They’re hungry to prove Rice-Eccles can be a fortress again. With better quarterback play and their typically stout defense, Utah should handle a three-point spread against a Red Raiders team taking their first road test at altitude.
- Pick: Utah -3 (-118 at DraftKings)
CFB Spread Picks #3: Nebraska +2.5 vs Michigan
To wrap up my Week 4 college football spread picks, I’m taking the Huskers getting points at home. Dylan Raiola has been phenomenal, completing 79.3% of his passes for 829 yards and nine touchdowns with zero interceptions. That’s elite production for a sophmore quarterback.
Nebraska is averaging 49 points per game and ranks fifth nationally with 366.3 passing yards per contest. They’ve made massive improvements on third down, converting over 62% of their chances. That’s nearly 20% higher than Michigan’s rate.
Bryce Underwood bounced back against Central Michigan with 349 total yards and three touchdowns. But that came against vastly inferior competition. The true freshman struggled against Oklahoma and now makes his Big Ten debut in a hostile Memorial Stadium environment.
Michigan’s pass defense has shown cracks. They allowed New Mexico to throw effectively in Week 1, and Oklahoma exploited that weakness in Week 2. Nebraska’s secondary has held three straight opponents under 100 passing yards, so this could become a defensive struggle.
The Wolverines will be without head coach Sherrone Moore due to suspension. Acting head coach takes over in a crucial road game against an improved Nebraska squad desperate to snap their 27-game losing streak against AP Top 25 opponents. Memorial Stadium will be rocking, and the Huskers have the offensive firepower to exploit Michigan’s weaknesses.
- Pick: Nebraska +2.5 (-110 at BetMGM)
