Heading into the final round of the Greenbrier Classic former amateur world #1 golfer Joaquin Niemann leads the pack in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The golfing world has expected the Chilean sensation to break through on the big stage and he has a tremendous opportunity heading into Sunday’s final round with his first career 54-hole lead on tour.
Heading into the tournament Niemann was the fourth favorite to win this event, so it should be no surprise that he’s in position to snag his maiden tour victory. Keep in mind, in the history of this event no 54-hole leader has ever been able to hold on for victory so historically there’s tons of value betting on players coming from behind on the final day.

Top of the Board
For avid golf fans it should come as no surprise that Joaquin Niemann is in this position given his superstar potential he’s exuded at such a young age. He got off to a surprisingly slow start to begin last season but finished the 2018-19 campaign with 10 cuts made in his last 11 starts, highlighted by a pair of top-5 finishes.
In 2017 Joaquin Niemann made his PGA debut as an amateur at #thegreenbrier. In 2018 Joaquin Niemann won his full-time tour card at the Greenbrier. In 2019, Joaquin Niemann is leading the Greenbrier. He’s 20-years old. #joaquinniemann

Records are meant to be broken – despite the fact no leader entering the final round has ever gone on to win this event, Niemann will buck the trend Sunday to claim his first victory and become the youngest foreign born winner on the PGA Tour since Harry Cooper in 1923.

The top-15 golfers on the leaderboard have combined for just six PGA Tour wins (Nate Lashley and Adam Long both won in 2019 and Harris English and Brian Harman have two wins each), so it’s not as if Niemann will need to fend off tons of proven winners.

Best Live Value Picks at Greenbrier Classic
- Scottie Scheffler (+800): All three of these golfers we were hot on before the event headlined by Scheffler. Leading money winner from the Korn Ferry Tour last season. Won twice on PGA Tour junior circuit and had two runner-ups. Three strokes behind leader Niemann.
- Sungjae Im (+2500): T-9th after three rounds, the 2018-19 PGA Tour rookie of the year picked up right where he left off from last season. Had 83 more total birdies than any golfer during the campaign en route to seven top-7 finishes.
- Patrick Rodgers (+6600): Tied with Sungjae Im, Rodgers is uber talented and it’s only a matter of time the former Stanford All-American wins on tour. Back healthy after missing four months during the middle of last season with wrist and thumb injuries.
